~ Toolshed 2: Power Tools for Recovery ~

Hey hi hello! Welcome to the second iteration of...

~ The Toolshed ~

I decided to make a new thread, as the first one had errors and phantom pages, and was getting quite long! You can still find all the amazing pics, inspiring quotes, and uplifting messages of the first Toolshed here.

What is the Toolshed? Ain't a place to hang your hammer! Hehe this is a space where we can share the things that have helped us in our recovery. Tools, coping skills, inspiring ideas, and messages of hope and growth, is what this space is all about!!

You can stay connected and up to date on this space by favouriting, or by subscribing to the thread - head to the top of the page, and find the three dots to the right of the thread title (next to the star), click, and from the drop down menu you can 'favourite' or 'subscribe' - and clicking the star itself will also favourite the thread for you.

Favourite threads are then always available in your favourites list which should appear on the right hand side of most forums pages - or you can go to your profile and scroll down to the 'Favourites' section under your recent posts.

If you subscribe, it means that you will get a notification every time someone posts something new in the thread. So up to you if you simply want it to be always accessible, or if you want all the updates, or both!

I invite anyone who wishes to contribute to do so! It doesn't have to be pictures, it can be discussion, questions, videos, whatever you like! So without further ado, here's my latest batch!

@Bunniekins Good points you raise here Bun, for your reasoning is very common in today's social climate.

i know the truth can be spoken in love or without love, such alone can make a massive difference speaking truth. i also know there is a time to speak and a time to be silent. But this i also know a lie, however loving i intent it to be is never true!

Now please do ask yourself can we trust something not true to do something true? For would telling someone the truth of the hurt they are hurting to be the lies hurting not bring long term relief from the hurt, but telling them more lies will merely get them further from the truth of their situation?

i know me believing lies while mentally ill brought me ever more torment, while the truth telling me this kept me out of that place although i'm mentally ill.

Something to ponder perhaps?

"If truth is not spoken in love it does not speak truth true.

As someone struggling to overcome the power mental illness had on me, i found that the truth lived to be the most reliable witness contributing greatly to my healing, especially struggling with those depressive lies when i was down deep.

Joy knows the tune to the words that make us dance. The truth is our best friend when lies come around.Letting fear indentify us captivates its terror.Truth is not an abstract fact or belief but every living moment of your reality. To remain true to yourself makes the crucial step remaining true to what truly matters.Truth is always sold as a commodity in a world of lies. The best part of being true? Truth never ever lies about you!

*hugs* to you @Cuddlebear . Never a rush to respond. Be gentle and kind to yourself.

What would sooth you for even just 5 min?

Would you like to give Wilbur a pat from me and tell him hello from me? 🤗 Does Wilbur like carrots? I would totally slip him a cheeky carrot as a treat.

@rav3n Spiral is a good description. Recovery is not linear, for sure. I guess a lot of life is like that -- we have good time with less stress, and then something unexpected happens and takes up unprepared.
