All Things Sport...

All Things Sport...

There are many threads dedicated to sharing experiences - good times and not so good - so I thought I would start a thread for those on here who love their sport. For me - and I suspect for some others - sport is a good distraction as it often blocks out the more negative emotions and helps to avoid triggers that many other things in 'life' so often seem to do.

This thread can also be a place where like-minded (and not so like-minded people @utopia @Former-Member @Zoe7 lol) can 'discuss/debate' their respective competitions in their preferred sport(s).

For those that are definitely NOT into sport @Phoenix_Rising for example - avoid this thread at all costs - whoops just tagged you in..........hahaha!!!!!

Re: All Things Sport...

Meh @Zoe7
Not much you can do haha. Australia needs to lift its game. Too many dodgy penalties and dumb plays. Wales play clean and they are good to watch.

Re: All Things Sport...

I would dispute that in the last 7 minutes @MDT They certainly seemed to be collapsing the scrum too easily but fair game - they came into the game more switched on than us just as was the case against Fiji and ultimately deserved the win.

Re: All Things Sport...

Indeed.
Idk how Chieka still has his job. But maybe Rugby Australia care too much about image than footy I'm not sure.

How did Liverpool go?

Re: All Things Sport...

I don't like how Chieka constantly changes the team around @MDT and I think that shows in their beginnings - it takes them time to settle together and unfortunately that shows on the scoreboard too.

Liverpool won again - 7 in a row and either 5 or 6 points clear at the top. Sustaining that will be difficult though - especially in the middle of the season when we always seem to drop off a bit - not sure why - injuries, national duties, European matches may all play a part but if we can keep it going then we are in a great position so far to challenge for top spot this year.

How did Swansea go?

Re: All Things Sport...

I see @Zoe7
Sounds like they may have a chance this year.

Yeah Swansea drew with Reading. They led at 3mins with a goal but conceded in 90th minute. Pretty bad. So they are 2nd in the table. They lost during the week in the League Cup game. They need to solidify themselves. But they are still in teething mode. Honestly ever since Laudrop left it has slowly gone downhill. Potter was good, but he left for a better team. I like Steve Cooper. He knows a thing or two. But they are playing better generally.

Re: All Things Sport...

Yeah we have a chance this year if we can keep it together @MDT We also have the team that can go deep so a couple of injuries can be covered.

I don't know much about Swansea but it would be gret for them to finish on top and be elevted into the Premier League for you next year. Along with that always comes better signings as well so everything crossed for you.

Re: All Things Sport...

We are playing okay @Zoe7 still giving away bad penalities though.
I've also decided against going out tonight. The meetup is getting dull. I keep suggesting a bar or pub crawl at least that involves moving. But bring at once dive pub is depressing tbh.
So yeah. Not gonna go for a while.
