Good morning @Gazza75 ... I see you there. How was your weekend on the farm?
No doubt everyone has heard the news this morning that both Ash Barty and Alex De Minaur lost their tennis matches overnight. I didnt see either of the matches live, I was actually asleep. Yay! But it sounds as though Ash played well below her best, so I am sure she would be very disappointed. Alex has had a great tournament however, playing well about his seeding, so I hope he is pleased with himself. He should be. So too young Popyrin, who lost the day before. He is showing some good promise that he could be another good player. And more importantly ... he is never in the news ... meaning he's not doing stupid things to make headlines. Thats gotta be a good thing. We dont need more Bernard's or Nick's.
I guess we next have the Cricket to look forward to. The 4th Ashes test starts on Wednesday night. Likely to be a few changes to the team. Smith has to come in, and hopefully Starc too. Not sure what they will do with our opening bats. I have to say that the selectors do some pretty odd things sometimes, so I am not going to even try to predict their next move.
Oh yeah ... the AFL footy finals are underway this weekend. I am so NOT used to my Swans not playing in September! The NRL has its final home and away round this coming weekend too. The big match in that will be between the Cronulla Sharks (our PMs team) and the Wests Tigers. The winner will be through to the finals, the loser will not. Hmmm ... who is everyone else backing there?
@MDT whats happening in the soccer world this coming week? I really do not follow the soccer closely enough to know. I have an interest in it, but dont follow any team as such.
