All Things Sport...

All Things Sport...

There are many threads dedicated to sharing experiences - good times and not so good - so I thought I would start a thread for those on here who love their sport. For me - and I suspect for some others - sport is a good distraction as it often blocks out the more negative emotions and helps to avoid triggers that many other things in 'life' so often seem to do.

This thread can also be a place where like-minded (and not so like-minded people @utopia @Former-Member @Zoe7 lol) can 'discuss/debate' their respective competitions in their preferred sport(s).

For those that are definitely NOT into sport @Phoenix_Rising for example - avoid this thread at all costs - whoops just tagged you in..........hahaha!!!!!

Re: All Things Sport...

We play tomorrow morning and need to win to finish in the top 4. Leicester City are currently on the same points but behind on GD @MDT

Re: All Things Sport...

Unfortunately Swansea just didn't show up. They let in 2 easy goals. And a red.
A forgetful match i think.
Not to worry lol

Re: All Things Sport...

They played shockingly @Zoe7
Its make or break i think from here.
Either they give the manager more funds to purchase quality players and develop the squad rather than taking in loanees. Or they don't and he leaves and Swansea declines in its performance.
They were over performing already with their squad so I think the former is more likely. That's what I hope

Re: All Things Sport...

It is certainly not the manager's fault @MDT He worked with what he had but a red card did not help. You are right - if they are serious they need a couple of top notch players and they cost

Re: All Things Sport...

He's an excellent manager that needs more room to move @Zoe7
I hope he stays.

Re: All Things Sport...

Hi there @MDT @Zoe7 @Eve7 @Emelia8 @DJMasters @WIP and all sports lovers here. Just checking in to update on what's going on in the land of sports.

Brisbane Lions had a great win over the Giants in the AFL; Melbourne Storm defeated the Brisbane Broncos in the NRL, Chelsea won in the soccer over Manchester City; the Melbourne Vixens finally had their first win of the season over the Queensland Thunderbirds in the netball and Melbourne Demons defeated the Western Bulldogs for their 10th straight win of the season in the AFL. Brisbane Lions play the Demons next week at a venue to be decided due to coronavirus issues with the AFL which should be a great match to watch as Brisbane is going for their 7th straight win and fir Melbourne, their 11th. The French Open starts tonight so we have some tennis action for the next 2 weeks. Go Ash Barty and Alex Deminaur!

Keep on enjoying your sports, forumites and may your teams win!

@Eve7 The Sharks home by a point - with a field goal in the last 2 minutes - great win for your boys 👍
