All Things Sport...

All Things Sport...

There are many threads dedicated to sharing experiences - good times and not so good - so I thought I would start a thread for those on here who love their sport. For me - and I suspect for some others - sport is a good distraction as it often blocks out the more negative emotions and helps to avoid triggers that many other things in 'life' so often seem to do.

This thread can also be a place where like-minded (and not so like-minded people @utopia @Former-Member @Zoe7 lol) can 'discuss/debate' their respective competitions in their preferred sport(s).

For those that are definitely NOT into sport @Phoenix_Rising for example - avoid this thread at all costs - whoops just tagged you in..........hahaha!!!!!

Re: All Things Sport...

What a beautiful story @Zoe7 I did not know she did lots of charity work. She sounds like a remarkable person. So great name for Cat agreed.

I think Toby is a great name too. I love how people come up with their pet names. Years ago when my sister was with her ex they got a dog and called him Justice because her ex was a JP. Lol.

But Justice was nicknamed Woo. He got either Woo or Jussy. He was a cross between a german shepherd, rottweiler and staffy possibly. He had the body shape of a german shepherd and the head shape of a rotty and most of his colouring matched the shepherd. He was a big dog and the biggest woos out lol. But he was very protective of his masters and was so loving and gentle at the same time. When my sister had her first child he was very jealous, but also extremely protective of her. One day when my sister was in the kitchen and Jussy heard her daugter waking up in the bedroom stirring every so quietly. So he went to the kitchen and stood in the doorway and when my sister looked at him he took off up the corridor towards the bedroom. My sister did not follow so back standing in the doorway he went and then my sister got the message and followed him to the bedroom where her daughter was stirring. So cute. He loved this little baby was not happy when she took all of his mum's time lol.

Animals are like that @Scarecrowe - espeially dogs. They are very intune with all that is going on around them and certainly can sense when something is wrong or different. That is why they make great assistance dogs also - they can see/feel things beore people even know ...such wonderfully intuitive creatures.

Re: All Things Sport...

I love writing @Scarecrowe - always have ...nice that you appreciate my style Unfortunately there is not much time to write much when I am at work - time is very much taken up with planning, marking and organising things for work.

What time are you going to your call from your friend?

Re: All Things Sport...

I love writing too @Zoe7 , but I am not very good at it. Always wanted to write a book, but has not eventuated. Have my nose in a book lots of the time. Love getting lost in other people stories and words.

We are going to catch up tomorrow at 12 instead now. She has unexpected grandchildren babysitting today lol.

Re: All Things Sport...

Something to look froward to tomorrow now then @Scarecrowe

I love biographies and crime books the most. I have always preferred non-fiction to fiction. I am not a big reader anymore (used to be) - too much work stuff to read so in my spare time I prefer to watch tv (sport and British crime shows the most) - that gives me a little pleasure in my day.

Re: All Things Sport...

I love biographies as well @Zoe7 (especially sports people lol).

I love non fiction and fiction. At the moment I have been reading lots of historical fiction books. They are different periods and royals in British History. Especially love the Tudors and the War of the Roses era. Right now I am reading a book from a Hobart author called Karen Brooks which I got for Xmas from a friend. The book is called The Locksmith's Daughter. It is set when Queen Elizabeth I was in reign and is about her spy master Sir Francis Walshingham who hires a woman to help spy for him. Really enjoying it.
