New to SANE

I just joined SANE and to be honest, I am not a t all sure what to do here, little known what to say, or write as the case maybe. I suffer with Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, Major Depression, Sevre Anxiety, and to top them off, Agoraphobia. Bipolar Disorder has also been mentioned, but not officially diagnosed, not that I need another one, as I struggle with what I have now, then add in a few medical issues as well, and you have me. For whatever use or good that is. To say I struggle would be an understatement. I keep to myself and have all but cut contact with the outside world, and do my best to shut it out, though it does manage to creep in at times. Anyway, before I rattle on too much, or delve too deep into the darkness of my life, I will leave it here, as I am not entirely sure what is allowed and what is not, nor would I wish to bore you all.

@SpiritHawk painting and writing is a good range of activities. They would bring out different parts of you.

I am going through a period of integrating my shadow side and my story. My feelings and personality are quite different than they used to be.

Creative processes can help that integration.

Re: New to SANE

@SpiritHawk sounds like the challenges are there but so is your life experience, wisdom and strength

Love poetry also and painting so share that.

Having had aome treatment before I know how hard it is to find something helpful. I hope u dont feel worried to ofer burden here

There arent many rules although sometimes if a person talks about a specific service or location therr might be some moderation. That said some ppl do like to discuss these things and find ways to do so.

As long as u dont mention you're specific doctor and also be mindful of graphic topics I feel u can speak openly withh the forums as we all have mental illness and won't rush to judge.

Take care.

Re: New to SANE

@SpiritHawk it's tricky battling between wanting to open up but also staying hidden and retreating back. we get so used to retreating that it almost feels 'comforting' to lean back onto it while reaching out can feel scary cos it's new/not something we're used to. with practice, it too will feel easier.

i know you said hope died for you long ago, but if i'm honest, i think i see hope in you - maybe it's hidden deep down or hard to admit. you are not a burden for sharing, and you're not a burden for wanting to get better/have support. i know you've endured decades of struggles, but that doesn't mean that you're any less deserving of being heard. every human, regardless of their journey, deserves to be seen and supported 💙
