Reality vs illusion.

Reality vs illusion.

I wonder were people to see their true selves would they strive to better themselves or would they just destroy all mirrors. so many people hate themselves yet hide it all away deluding themselves into believing their own rhetoric monologue, hiding within the illusion and ego why do they not seek improvement or allow the freedom to relieve the soul, why do so many if not all deny their vulnerabilities we are a weak species we were wrongly provided this intellectual capacity for our own self preservation, as on no other level can we compete with other predators, I say wrongly provided because obviously arrogance, ego and greed to the point of complete environmental obliteration without consideration of anything but our personal comfort and pride is insane.

of course this relates only to the majority of people I have met/known during the course of my life so far, others may provide hope but I cannot take it on faith some things need to be tangible

@Redraw, hello to you.

i don't think most people are that way. Not in my experience. Not at their core. However I do think those who are in positions to influence the direction of the human race are. I'm not sure we were wrongly provided with intellect, however it would certainly seem an under used asset.

Culture is determined by either sitting by and letting things slide, or actively addressing inconguities. Most prefer to sit by. But is that illusion or reality? Some would say both.

As possibly Stuart Mills said (or a number of claimed sources): " The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing."

the problem is, without vigilance it is impossible to delineate between reality and illusion, good and evil, fact or fiction. It could be argued it comes down to perspective. So.... reality or illusion....

The nature of yin yang. The mysteries of life.

Hi @Former-Member.

i have seen so much potential wasted through conceding, people talk of such beautiful things but intellect yet give it up and throw it away for instant self gratification, by whatever means, they will give up all their grand ideals and morality for the quick and fleeting happy yet inside they hate and hurt but they hide it through whatever means, drugs, alcohol, sex, self delusion whatever quick fix works, I have seen this more than I care to remember yet I do remember I see each reality behind the illusion they create I see their eyes I see beyond the facade, I have taken a lot of darkness from a lot of people it hurts my mind and my heart every day, everything every person, every hate, every pain, all of it bursts in constant flashes against the inside of my eyes, the sounds resonate within my eardrums, it doesn't end it doesn't go away.

A persons eyes will tell you everything you merely need to be open to really see.

as for humans intelligence with the exceptions of making quicker and easier ways to ki**, destroy and f*** (again a word I find abhorrent when used to describe the physical act of love yet completely apt in this regard) of course there other things but I am pretty sure almost all could be led back to these three sections.

the idea of yin and yang is good but it would mean that ALL good had bad in it and ALL bad had good in it I just can't accept that.

@Redraw"The idea of yin and yang is good but it would mean that ALL good had bad in it and ALL bad had good in it I just can't accept that."

But doesn't it? Because everything in the extreme become it's opposite. 😛

Re: Reality vs illusion.

Everything in the extreme is in and of itself only a section, see if I was to give $50 to a charity that scenario would mean that on my part there was bad in that, by the same note if I was to steal something then there is good in that. In some things there may be ambiguity but not ALL things

Re: Reality vs illusion.

@Redraw... ah but in part there could be bad and good in those scenarios. So are you saying there is or there isn't?

sorry... don't mean to play the devil's advocate here but it seems I may be. 😛

Re: Reality vs illusion.

The basis of using the word COULD in that removes the absolute factor that it shows, the white in the black and the black in the white are not in flux they are a constant so while such things can have the opposite it's not a given.

Re: Reality vs illusion.

ah... isn't perspective a wonderful thing. And that would be perspective driven.

Re: Reality vs illusion.

Perspective now that can be in constant flux,

Re: Reality vs illusion.

@RedrawYou do realise that's a "catch 22"? Just sayin 😛 but then illusion vs reality is just that. 🙂
