Power and control is too common in DV relationships. It's a shame that her mother has disowned her. I'm sorry to hear that! I have a close friend on meth and understand that the pull to use is very strong, even if they don't want to. I believe it's a difficult drug to get and stay off. I'm staying with my son for a few days and have noticed that he has a drinking problem at the moment. He drank a bottle of spirits yesterday and drinks everyday. I made him aware of what he's doing but unfortunately, that's all I can do. I understand and can relate to addiction but am clean and sober today. It's been a long and hard road to get there. @Appleblossom I was thinking the same thing about Icehouse touring - I can finally afford to see them!! I too was in school and college in the 80's. I was a big Duran Duran fan but mum wouldn't let me go see them when the came to town. My best friend at the time had the same dilemma, her parents didn't want her to go either. I think we staged a rebellion and refused to leave our rooms!

I still place Icehouse in my top 10 favourite bands.
