To feel empty after you have given so much out is very normal. Give yourself a big hug and accept that caring for others drains our energy. If things happened that were very challenging it can help to process the emotions you got from that. That is the best way to stay stable in highly charge environments. Do give yourself a nice break and try not to worry about things you cannot change. (i always find that hardest.) Very good of you to stand by your friend in time of trouble. That can really help stabilise the recovery.

I worked in high-end audio and a colleague gave me a great metaphor for the difference: Analogue is like taking the statue of David and transporting it whole, whereas digital is like chopping it up into tiny pieces and then reassembling at the destination - something always gets lost in translation. Thanks Barry, I have never forgotten it.

Analogue preserves a certain richness and warmth that digital never can fully recreate. It's main function is convenience and portability. Glad we are on the same wavelength my dear...true music appreciation is becoming a lost art form.

Luckily for us we all know that age doesn't define us.

As I told my psychiatrist when he referred to my as being somewhat responsible for my depression age is nothing but a number.
