TW: Sexual abuse

TW: Sexual abuse

Trigger warning

Content/trigger warning
I was violated, I’ve never felt right since I was a child I felt something bad had happened to me and it took a mental snap for it to flood back I was sexually abused from 8 through to 13 under the influence of heavy drugs administered by a family member, 3 seperate people did it and I blocked it out for years It all came to a head last week my anxiety was through the roof and I didn’t know why, I was talking to my friend about my childhood which wasn’t a good one then all of a sudden flashbacks of being beaten over and over again 100 times in one session until I passed out I was 8, having my hair pulled so hard some was pulled out but all well hidden from other family members, I’ve been all over the place emotionally but it feels good in a way I’m starting to connect the dots and put some pieces of myself back together

thank you for listening to me I appreciate you all xx

Re: Sexual abuse

Hi @Jessica22 ,

I'm sorry that you experienced this; no one should ever be subjected to treatment like that.

I'm glad you are seeking support and help, with the mix of emotions and processing of it.

When I remembered/realised my early assaults it made sense of a few other 'symptoms' in my earlier life. Connected a few dots.

Sitting here with you. And listening to your (written) voice in sharing your story.

@Jessica22 @Till23 @MJG017

Hi, I was a victim of CSA too. I am trying to deal with it now through trauma therapy.

I have been trying EMDR. I am not sure how it is going? I was abused by sibling's but I think that they were also being abused by our Dad. I am trying to move forward whilst still having a relationship with these people but it's really hard knowing that they hurt me in the past. One of my abuser's would totally deny it if I brought it up with them but the other one has approached me to apologise. I am a bit all over the place about it.

my mother knew about the abuse and watched as I got abused for the first time encouraging it she has always hated me but I didn’t think she could be so cruel, the others were so called friends of family

Re: Sexual abuse

@Jessica22 I am so sorry for what you have experienced. I was physically and sexually abused as a child and that has continued through to my adult life. I have memories that I've suppressed even subconsciously but often I have flashbacks where things come flooding back. Please know that you are not alone, I hope you can get some support for what you have been through. Know that we are here for you 🩵

Re: TW: Sexual abuse

I echo @RebelliousAngel 's sentiment, @Jessica22 . 😊

You are not alone in this world.

You are heard.

You did not deserve it.

They were in the wrong.

It was never your fault.

She should have protected you, not exploited you.

Anger and hurt would be an understandable emotion to feel, and its not wrong to feel it.

Life can go on, even with the realisation and memory of the violation.

You are more than what people have done to you.

Re: TW: Sexual abuse

I empathise with that @Jessica22 .

I feel my childhood years (which people often talk about as meant to be fun, joy, light, etc) were robbed from me too. I grieve for my lost childhood carefree time, and I grieve for my teenage years of severe depression that were not years of learning who I was, social trust, or fun.
