@DownMoreThanUp regardless of politics this is why I admire and respect Jacinta Nampijinpa Price. She has often spoken up about the neglect that happens.

I worked for a member of parliament in Broome many years back and whilst at the Big T (I am not allowed to say the name of the company apparently, though can't see why since I haven't worked there for nearly 17 years) I specialised in telephony for remote communities. It was an eye opener and made me see the truth, not just what our current politicians and city do-gooders tell us.

Re: Fancy a cuppa , Connect now 2

@GezzaP @Appleblossom @DownMoreThanUp I have worked for 3 different politicians and I will keep the party anonymous. What I learned is that there were decent politicians in Australia until recently.

There are still a couple of good ones and I can only hope and pray that they stay true to their convictions.

Not all politicians are led by money and the media is usually only 5% accurate when speaking about them.
I prefer not to speak poorly of any politician which is why I refuse to acknowledge any negative comments, memes or jokes about Trump. The American public voted him in, just like the Australian public voted Albanese in. I will not say whether I am in favour of either of these politicians but I will say I respect their position and don't personally find it funny to make jokes about them.

I'd like people to actually know the truth about the party they dislike before criticising and since I don't know much about the major parties I won't criticise and say one is better than the other.

I hope everyone is having a great Sunday, I am enjoying a crème brulee latte and listening to my cat meow at me, probably for his Kitty Krack.

I have the TV on with the sound down, I probably should turn it off!

@ENKELI In my opinion Trump is a horrible man but each to their own opinions. I believe Trump is turning the US into a fascist country with his authoritarianism and deploying ICE and the National Guard against his enemies. I for one would be deported back to Australia if I went there. I will wait and hope that he goes when elections are due.
The Coalition here represents corporations and rich people. Albo is ok but I have sympathy for the Greens ideals. I personally wish we were more like Scandanavia and Finland.

Re: Fancy a cuppa , Connect now 2

@ENKELI hearing you. Having seen my kids working on both sides, I know there is a lot of unpaid labour and various ethical and social convictions that motivate people on both sides. Yes, there are good people putting good effort and trying to improve things. Agreed the media is not the be all end all regarding truth. I now have good conversations with young people in various parties from Libertarian to International Socialists. I did not really have time to shoot the breeze and just talk to people when I was a student. I am glad I studied it all decades ago. I am saddened by the polarisation that often occurs, which turns into demonising the other side and reduces the quality of debate.

I was on facebook back in Trumps first presidency. I may have vaguely agreed with the first couple posts about him, but honestly got so sick of all the negativity about him again and again and again. I was still pretty leftie at the time, and mainly to people in Africa and an orphanage over there. That is how lefty and concerned with social justice that I was. The worst offender in my Facebook was a choral and orchestral conductor, who I thought was pushing his over privilege too much. It is part of why I never bothered to go back to Facebook when I got locked out. Over it. I found it was over privileged lefties who banged pots and pans too loud who started the sneering about conspiracy theories, rather than attempt to understand why people believe what they believe. My family has been devastated by political arguments now and when I was a kid.

Power and power imbalances are definitely a part of life and we all need to be aware of where we sit in relation to it all. A weird positive outcome of my early abandonment was self reliance. I later learned about the value of personal agency theoretically.

@Appleblossom @GezzaP

I have not read your posts in full as I am tired of hearing all of the negativity surrounding Trump. You have your opinions and that's great. I just chose not to read them. This doesn't mean I am for or against, I prefer to stay out of conversations when I don't know enough about the topic.

I say this with the utmost respect to your opinions, and know that you will be respectful of mine too 😍

I hope your day went well, and here's to a great week, whatever you may be up to! 😊❤️

No worries @ENKELI . Of course I respect your desire not to engage re Trump.
I am awake early again because I’m hypomanic and can’t go back to sleep after waking up to go to the loo.

Done back and neck exercises already. My back and neck are sore and I have w constant headache. Took some pain killers. Will put tiger balm on head and neck too when I stand up in a minute. When I sit down again will put heat pad in my back.

Going to do some Spanish lessons online. I’m revising basic Spanish. I’m about 70 percent fluent. Oh and I had my first dream ever in Spanish last week!
Once it’s light I will walk up the local shop. Shop is open at 7.30am. Then I want to do a little gardening if the weather is ok.
