Hello @Shaz51 @MissGremlin @Abbz77 @GezzaP @creative_writer @rav3n @Ru-bee @Jynx @Chasingsunsets @heartathome @tyme @Snowie @DogMan79 @Bunniekins @Appleblossom @Faith-and-Hope @Glisten and everyone here this Thursday afternoon. I hope your day has gone well for you.
@Shaz51 I love your teapot collection! I’m a fan of having a cup of tea when I need to relax as it helps me with my anxiety and stress levels. Do you drink tea at all? I hope the MH worker called back. Sounds like trouble at your end? Sending positive vibes for good news your way!
@Abbz77 Great job on the knitting of your squares for the blankets you knit for charity. I also knit blankets for a charity here in Victoria along with beanies and jumpers to donate to people less fortunate. At the moment, I’m working on a kids jumper and knitting a blanket in the form of strips to sew up and turn into a blanket - 40 stitches on 4mm needles and I make the strips 120cm long. 8 strips makes an adult blanket and 5 strips makes a baby blanket. It’s a great way of using up wool and helps me with my mental health. I’ve just recently finished knitting several jumpers for myself as well which will be perfect for next winter.
As for news in my world:
- Had my Vcat hearing today regarding my rental property situation which my housemate handled with the help of lawyers. The case was adjourned until next Friday as our property manager struggled to read all the evidence and documents that the lawyers had sent her and understand what they all meant as ‘she’s not a lawyer- her excuse!’. She also got told off by the vcat member about her behaviour and legal knowledge with the vcat member saying the case needed more time - possibly to be heard next month but the property manager had a whinge and requested next week which she got unfortunately. The vcat member warned her there was issues with her case and to think about what legal references she used if she was to go ahead next Friday. All it means is we get more time to possibly move out. The stupid property manager then puts in another vcat application less than 2 hours later which has more wrong things in it - no evidence- but that’s not likely to be heard until January as vcat end next Friday for the rest of the year. There’s a chance we could get made to leave next Friday night but that’s not likely according to the lawyers who will defend us if that was to happen. Basically, the property manager is incompetent and hates losing. More to come I guess!
- My housemate has been temperamental at times up until this morning but I’ve been dealing with it to the best of my ability. I’m putting it down to stress with the whole housing situation and her ndis issues which have now been upped to a formal complaint to various government departments/ agencies.
- I did get another storage unit so now we’ve got 2 for the move which should happen next Tuesday. This is part 1 - to the storage facility with part 2- to uni student accommodation- happening later on (depends on next Fridays outcome at 10:30 at vcat).
- I booked a cruise to New Zealand for late November 2027 yesterday to celebrate my 50th birthday happening in August 2027. I booked a cabin for 2 people as I got a discount so my housemate can come along with me. Worst case is she cancels and I go by myself and have a spare bed in the balcony cabin!
- I’m officially a uni student as my uni sent me through a welcome email telling me what to do in the next few months before uni starts in March. I can put in my timetable subject preferences as of next week with a computer deciding my ultimate timetable at the end of January. Roll on me starting my Bachelor of Social Work degree!
- My emergency break away on Friday will be getting reimbursed to me thanks to my carer peer worker securing funding for me which I’m very happy and grateful for as I didn’t expect this. I did enjoy the break but I wouldn’t stay at the accommodation again as it was substandard and not to my liking.
- I’ve been watching the cricket - women’s big bash finals and I’m happy to say that the Hobart Hurricanes are through to the final on Saturday night in Hobart. They’ll play the winner of tonight’s match - either Perth Scorchers or Sydney Sixers - in order to decide who they will play. Personally I’m hoping the Scorchers win tonight with the Hurricanes winning the grand final on Saturday night.
Time to go and chill! Enjoy the rest of the night!
Take care.
