Pros and Cons

Pros and Cons

Does anyone else weigh up the options in life? Does anyone do like a pro and con list? I've been doing mine and all I'm getting is con. I'm starting to think what's the real point of my cons stop me for living the fullest. Like do I just want to exists in life and never reach my full potential or do I want to give up. Do I need to alter my dreams to coinside with my illness?

Re: Pros and Cons

Hello @Former-Member, I personally love a good old pros and cons list, even though the results can be scary and honest they can be so helpful to point you in a direction that is better long term.

If your list contains alot of cons and have got your wanting to quesiton your dreams are you able to look at the pro's of these altered dreams? Such as 'better for my well-being, etc?' It's great that you are being proactive by doing this list, it can be really scary when you are honest with yourself, I have been there

Re: Pros and Cons

My dreams I've had since I was a child. They are both me and my husbands dreams. They are literally everything I've been working for in life and I'm still trying to plan and live them even though deep down I know I will never be able to do them. So to me I'm just not failing my dreams I'm failing my husbands dreams

Re: Pros and Cons

@Former-Member,
I get not living up to your dreams. I've had to completely re-configure my dreams recently. It's hard, but it can be done.
I've had to be realistic about what I can and cannot do, that I'll never be a doctor, that I might never have a family etc.
Your husband might need to do the same.

Re: Pros and Cons

That must be incredibly tough @Former-Member I cannot agree with @Former-Member more about your husbands dreams as together you are a team and together you can form new dreams which I am sure you have done before together and will be hard but dreams are never easy that's what makes them a dream and not just another thing you do in a day.

Re: Pros and Cons

I don't believe anyone should have to change there dreams because of me. For me I find that selfish. He already has to live an altered life and do all the cooking and cleaning so I can work but taking away his desires of his heart. I can't do that. I'm a very put others first myself last kind of person and I also want everyone around me to live to their full potential.

Re: Pros and Cons

Con list is getting bigger. I'm really struggling just to get through the day. I just feel like I'm going to have a break down any second. I hate that feeling just before you snap and knowing there's nothing you can do about it.

Hi @Former-Member 🙂

How are you tracking today?

I understand that it can be a huge challenge when we are loaded up with cons or a negative headspace, sometimes trying something different can be helpful in assisting a shift even if its only a small one. Offering ourselves an act of self kindess can be a good place to start. Do you have an idea of what self kindness act you can give to yourself?

We're here for you if you need.

Not tracking that good. I just hate that state in deppresion when your body aches. It's like a real physical pain. I can also just feel myself about to snap. Like another break down is on it's way. I've been trying to do stuff for myself but now I'm in debt. But I do have a full new wardrobe in one week. Latest winter collections all mine. But know my husband is mad due to my spending but he only knows about 25% of it lol

Re: Pros and Cons

Thank you for your reply @Former-Member

It sounds like things are quite tough for you at the moment. I'm wondering if some of these behaviours, feelings and thoughts could be warning signs for you? If so what do you think they are telling you? I wonder if are able to access some support services for yourself? Happy to help you explore your options if you need.

What have you got on for the dat today @Former-Member

Hope and kindness coming your way 🙂

Re: Pros and Cons

I don't think it's a warning sign I just think it's bipolar. Nothing I can really do not being medicated but ride it out.
