Good morning

Good morning

Good morning everyone

Just a little bitnof encouragement.

If you are reading this younare still here.

Even when you are feeling good or ok.

It's alright to know that sometimes you won't.

As long as you are still here, you still exist. That is awesome.

Have a good day, or just a day. Everyone of them counts.

Re: Good morning

Hey @GezzaP,

I can see that things are feeling heavy for you today and I wanted to stop by to let you know our team are here for you.

Depression is so tough, and if all you can do right now is the basics, know that it's enough. 💛

Have you called someone like Beyond Blue for more support? Or spoken with your GP about a Mental Health Treatment Plan?

Re: Good morning

@jrn But I really appreciate your presence. It will get me through until the footy comes on TV. I feel so down and I can’t help it. The mornings and the evenings are the worst for me. I go to bed early and sleep for hours with the help of drugs. I take a lot of drugs for my bipolar and take 3 drugs for blood pressure. I also take salt tablets because my salt level is low. I rattle.

Re: Good morning

@AuntGlow I tried beyond blue a couple of days ago but didn’t find their suggestion helpful. I asked my GP about a mental health plan but she rejected that. I have my psychiatrist she only works Tuesday. She is calling me Tuesday. I will try to open up to her she says my sister has a problem, but she’s my sister and I love and miss her. At least my cat is sitting on my lap. She has been sleeping with me too. They seem to know something is not right.

Re: Good morning

Thank you for sharing this with me @GezzaP. In this case, I am glad you have your psychiatrist to turn to - please let me know how it goes on Tuesday.

What did your GP say about the MHCP? You are absolutely entitled to explore this option!

I can only imagine how much you love and miss your sister. Happy to listen to more about this if you'd like to share.

I am glad you have your kitty - what's her name? 💛

Re: Good morning

@AuntGlow My GP just said no didn’t give a reason. My cat’s name is Loquita which means crazy little girl in Spanish. I speak Spanish fairly well. I learnt it to read stuff for my PhD. I am watching some local footy. If I can I’ll let you know how my psych goes.

Re: Good morning

Hmmm, I would encourage you to ask them again if you can - maybe another GP? I get the sense some ongoing support in this realm would be really helpful for you. 🥰 @GezzaP I can also send some online options, if you'd like?

You have a PhD!!! Oh my goodness - in what??

Re: Good morning

@AuntGlow My PhD was in history on the Cuban revolution and sport. I published a book with one of my examiners in the US. We are still friends. I went on to be an academic in politics. Taught poor countries politics and especially Latin American politics. Yes send the online stuff. When I can work up the strength I’ll ask my GP again.

Re: Good morning

@AuntGlow Please send the online stuff. I have gone to bed to escape in sleep. Hopefully I won’t have another nightmare. Puss has joined me. She just used her litter tray so I’ll have that to clean up in the morning. I keep my cat in at night so she doesn’t go for the wildlife.

Re: Good morning

That is soooo cool! What exactly made you feel so drawn to the Cuban revolution and sport? @GezzaP

Incredible that you went on to teach as well, I am sure you have so many wonderful stories to share - perhaps even some challenging ones. 🤔

What was your most memorable experience from your teaching days?

I was thinking something like Someone Health could be good? They do telehealth appointments and you can organise the MHCP all on the website! You just need a Medicare card. Here is the link: https://someone.health/

I hope you and your fur baby get lots of peaceful rest tonight. 😴💛

Re: Good morning

Hello @AuntGlow thanks for the link, but don’t feel up to it today. Didn’t make it to the shower and struggled to have breakfast and take my meds this morning.

I taught one course where I allowed students to draw or paint for assessments. Got some pretty good stuff. Teaching was quite hard for me.
