I think @0ddsidian can attest to the fact that my rambles also do very frequently occur in-person!!

Now my three weird things!!

1. I collect dead things to keep their bones. I'm particularly fond of teeth.
2. I am ADAMANTLY, FERVENTLY, and INEXORABLY against both fish and bananas - I despise their taste and smell with all my being. They are not allowed to be consumed in my house.
3. I find certain types of hard, high BPM psytrance to be soothing, and have a list of the hardest and filthiest tracks specifically for when I need to calm down.

I think @0ddsidian can also attest to how weird I am in the real. We can all be a gang o weirdos together 😊😜

Whenever I get into a ramble I think of you @Jynx. Whether it’s on here or in life.

Im sure you are the same on here and off. You have an air of authenticity about you. That you are who you are unashamedly. I like that about you.

Oh I’m sure you’re weird! I mean that in a good way though.

Bones is definitely different, bananas I hate, that music sounds intense and I couldn’t handle the noise!

Do you find music helps you think tho?

It was meant to be @Jynx. However being ASD makes it hard for me to get things across the right way! Something I’m learning, just saying.

Music is hit or miss. The last nightshift, I put the radio on in the truck and had it on the good station. Then after I had my break and jumped back in the truck I forgot to turn it on and didn’t even notice until someone said something about a song.

@Captain24 totally a learning process - still is for me, too! And yeah it can almost almost feel like a language barrier at times, those differences in communication. Stuff like being misinterpreted as rude, not getting jokes, or taking idioms literally (why on earth does the saying, 'keep your eyes peeled' exist? Cos, um, ow. And also, um, gross...) can definitely make for awkwardness - especially if one or both parties are unaware of ND/NT communication differences.

How do you go with xmas music in retail centres?

People always think I’m rude as I can’t say the right thing at the right time. I think everyone is being mean to each other at work but I think they are joking around and I just don’t get it @Jynx. It does make me feel stupid though.

I spent 25 years working in retail and having to listen to that music from November. I may sing a long occasionally but unconsciously. It really grated on my nerves though. It irritates me so much that it’s all messed up inside like an internal rage kinda thing.

How do you go with it?

@Captain24 I hope you get the chance to hang out with some ND folks who 'speak your language' hun, cos then maybe you would feel your 'actual' intelligence. I know you're not stupid because you and I have totally spoken about some pretty complex topics and you have no problems keeping up.

I doubt I will @Jynx. I only go to work and they already think I’m stupid and I feel like they are right.

At least you get it! They have always gotten to me. When I listen to the radio at work they slowly start introducing them and that annoys me.

@Captain24 that's just their opinion (or more, it's your assessment/assumption of their opinion). So now you've got two conflicting opinions of your intelligence - and you get to choose which one you wanna believe 😉

I use to be quite smart but appeared stupid @Jynx. Now I feel like I have lost a lot of my intelligence. Even with the support group I went to on Tuesday night I’m unable to interpret their sayings.
