What has been your highlight today, no matter how big or small? Come share 🫶

Hi everyone! This is my first ever forum post so do hope it lands where it’s meant to 🤣

Most days, I like to find a highlight 😊. Usually, that means during a walk with my dog, I try to spot something different, something cool or something that brings me some happiness. Whether it’s something big or small, it doesn’t matter. A highlight can be anything!

I love taking photos and would really like to share and see what you've come across. Something that made you smile, sparked your interest, or simply caught your eye. For me, it’s all the little things that count on the hard days.

To start, I’d like to share these beautiful birds I came across today. They like to appear like branches of a tree or the tree itself. They are called Tawny Frogmouth’s. Has anyone else seen these types of birds? My pics below -(hopefully not too small to see two in the tree on the left pic).

What have you seen today? ☀️💛🙏

. I've just been given the sack by the support co-ordinator. Either I hate her younger support workers or her money has run out.

I'm Trying to write to @SmilingGecko --oh that's right.

So- I've been struggling with my story - how my brother's story intermingle with my story and how they cope with theirs.

Anyway, iv been mindful how my brother's cope knowing my mum stole my sons and arranged for them to live with others. It was a horrible time for me vut I'v had much time to get over it.

Anyway - life goes on. We all live our lives. I start looking into my ancestry my family thread. .......I find a photo of my great Grandmother, Marcella in Ohio, America she gets born 1800s. Dies at 90.

Mum tells me last week......When Marcella gave birth to two boys her husband dies in say 1907. She is very poor so she goes to live with her sister in law's. Marcella gets quite sick.

She Gets better to find out that the sister in law's had stolen her 2 sons. She went home to an empty house. Everything was gone. They had moved else wear

even though Marcella was devastated, she remarries and has other children. But she doesn't recover from losing her children.

Several years ago, I found out last week, , mum is living in Ohio with my brother's. and the front door bangs. Mum opens the door.

The sons from those two boys stolen from my Great Grandmother, had been doing research on Ancestry in America and went to visit Mum to tell her what happened.

I felt generational trauma slapping me in the face.

@PeppyPatti hey PeppyPatti that is what scares me i know i have generational trauma from not only my family but my birth parents. i am scared that if i open the Pandora's box i might regret it. once opened it cannot be shut again. i just dont know.

@Chasingsunsets @Shaz51 @Bunniekins @AuntGlow

@REDLINEZ750 yes, the senior contributor label does not need many posts. I also found it strange and new to be able to share in an unguarded manner on the forums. Most of my life there had been so much shame and stigma about so many fundamental issues in my life that I was always second guessing and compartmentalising what I could say to who. Usually life is interconnected and silencing oneself is not good.

my highlight today was being able to speak about orphanages touching on the lighter sides of it, and making lots of little connections, eg about my little brother.
