What has been your highlight today, no matter how big or small? Come share 🫶

Hi everyone! This is my first ever forum post so do hope it lands where it’s meant to 🤣

Most days, I like to find a highlight 😊. Usually, that means during a walk with my dog, I try to spot something different, something cool or something that brings me some happiness. Whether it’s something big or small, it doesn’t matter. A highlight can be anything!

I love taking photos and would really like to share and see what you've come across. Something that made you smile, sparked your interest, or simply caught your eye. For me, it’s all the little things that count on the hard days.


To start, I’d like to share these beautiful birds I came across today. They like to appear like branches of a tree or the tree itself. They are called Tawny Frogmouth’s. Has anyone else seen these types of birds? My pics below -(hopefully not too small to see two in the tree on the left pic).

Hi everyone 😊

Been off for a while because I went to New Zealand for the first time, explored some part of South Island, and the west coast completely got me blown away. The ocean was huge, roaring with all its power and so wild. I saw so much wildlife, hundreds of seals resting and (fighting a lot) on the rocks, albatrosses gliding around effortlessly, and dolphins moving through the waves. I kept having moments where I just had to stop and take it in because it didn't feel real.

But the moment that stays with me most is seeing two giant speerm whales just floating peacefully at the surface during a whale cruise. It was magical, so calm, powerful, huge and full of presence. When they blew out those big bursts of spray, I was just like wow… I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.

I remember standing there completely amazed, crying because it all felt so surreal. Lucky I had my sunglasses on, haha.


I haven't sorted out my photos yet, but when I do I'll show you some photos.. 🐳🐚🐬🐦 missed you all

sounds good @SaltwaterSoul I went on a whale cruise in Broome years ago. also lots of dolphins can see from shore in SA if know when and where to look. I spent an afternoon in a place called Dolphin Bay at the bottom of Yorke Peninsula, might have been 50 or so. place was thick with them lol.also used to see a few surfing early mornings south of Adelaide

Highlights :

  • splitting wood for fire
  • watched 1960s Aust movie
  • got more TP and papertowel for my stash lol

Wow that sounds really beautiful. Do you remember what whales you saw on your cruise? I went on a cruise once here in Australia, I think somewhere north of nsw but sadly didn't see any whales that time. I kind of prepared myself that it might happen again in NZ, it's never a guarantee but got to see two in nz, it felt really special. 😊
