Hi @Chasingsunsets I went to the dentist this morning to get new retainers as my current ones - one is broken and the other one is ok but I still need a new one regardless. Paid $580 in total for these Invisalign retainers which is way over my budget but sad how dentals aren’t Medicare-rebate-affiliated because they aren’t recognised as essential care 😕 like I wish I didn’t have to pay expensive for essentials as a low incomer lol

anyway tomorrow I’m gonna go there for a dental cleaning check up because after the receptionist gave me a bit of a lecture about it in a nice way (but he was pretty quiet too so I couldn’t catch much from what he was saying with the music playing in the background) after I said to him the reason why I didn’t want to do check ups was because I didn’t see the point in doing so (but also because of the costs which I didn’t tell him about cause there’s no way I’m telling people about me being on Centrelink). So after he has done that, I instantly thought to myself like ‘ok, I should go and get the check up then since what he said sounded very important’ and so I asked him if he can book me that appointment in so I’m scheduled to go there tomorrow afternoon.

it was because at first the receptionist asked me if I had a dental check up cleaning done at that clinic or any other clinic and I said no, and because I was contacted from this clinic several times before that I was overdue for the check up, I kept putting it off due to…well those two reasons I’ve already said above 🙃

Nice one @Blackcloud !! You have reminded me I think I am due a dentist visit lol- kept putting it off but it’s in the ‘to do list’ 😎. The retainers sound good, I know it really a shame dentist stuff is not covered on Medicare would make it much more affordable 😜. Good luck today with you appointment 🫶
