What has been your highlight today, no matter how big or small? Come share 🫶

Hi everyone! This is my first ever forum post so do hope it lands where it’s meant to 🤣

Most days, I like to find a highlight 😊. Usually, that means during a walk with my dog, I try to spot something different, something cool or something that brings me some happiness. Whether it’s something big or small, it doesn’t matter. A highlight can be anything!

I love taking photos and would really like to share and see what you've come across. Something that made you smile, sparked your interest, or simply caught your eye. For me, it’s all the little things that count on the hard days.

To start, I’d like to share these beautiful birds I came across today. They like to appear like branches of a tree or the tree itself. They are called Tawny Frogmouth’s. Has anyone else seen these types of birds? My pics below -(hopefully not too small to see two in the tree on the left pic).

What have you seen today? ☀️💛🙏

@Bunniekins It does take me a little while, as I can't sit for long periods of time with my head down, as I end up with headaches. So, I have to take breaks. I haven't done one is over 7 years, so looking forward to doing one again. I ordered it in a smaller size (30cm x 30cm), so I knew it would fit easily on the table in the caravan and still leave me room to move.

I gave the cat one to my niece, as it looks exactly like her cat. Unfortunately, her cat died not long after, so now she has that picture with the cat's ashes in an urn together in her house. I also gave her the Samoyed dog picture as she had two of them at the time.

The Jack Daniels one went to my partner's workshop, as after work the workers would stay for a little while and have a few beers or some Jack Daniels. They had about 20 Jack Daniels bottles lined up in the workshop, so I thought this picture was appropriate.

And the Elsa one, was for my daughter's room, as she just loved the movie Frozen.

The one that I ordered is for me to look at and enjoy. Did you notice what the tattoo said on her shoulder? It said "Karma, I have a list for you" Lol

Honestly @Ruby26

I love your honesty.

as I’m sitting here having a coffee in a cafe

thinking about @Glisten weight training

@Bunniekins organising her cooking for the day with children

@AuntGlow doing her work and I think studies

remembering my own very small journey

I am reminded of myself when I think of my oldest son ( he is very busy living his life)

He’s in therapy !! But at 35 yrs old I can see the same feeling towards me that I have to my mother coming out but thankfully he is realising is wrong. It’s very hard to let him go so he can work it out.
you can’t turn back the clock.

what I did was I was in such a bad first marriage although I paid heaps of money for therapy for him - he was angry at me. I wasn’t able to be present for him.

He’s well educated which is good but my youngest son doesn’t want to spend time with him because my youngest sons life is difficult —

I can only suggest as I say to myself just live your life try and stay present. 💝 feelings run deep -

please don’t think I know anything but really it’s about your value as a person and how you feel that’s the most important.
I am very slowly doing an embroidery because I am going to be so proud of myself when I finish it.

I don’t know if I would ever ever be able to care for my mum. Fortunately for me my youngest brother is working hard showing off he is always there for her. He sitting to get her popped into a nursing home so he can get her home. I find the whole thing hilarious. He has cut my brothers and myself out of his life.

thanks for message

you are needed

Your my hero @Oaktree

nothing more to write

🕷️🤟 sorry re spider but people jump on house spiders not the red backs but the normal harmless house spiders and I think we need to watch out for them

I’m terrified of spiders so this might just be a warning to me anyway

@PeppyPatti When I actually owned a house, if I ever got a huntsman on the wall, I would just leave them there and I would name it Fred. But if it got too close to my bed, I would try to catch it and release it outside. But all redbacks and white tips must die.

lol @Mustang67

that dream of owning a home may happen for me one day again but until then I have very safe public housing.

I was bitten by a white tail spider the day before my 50 th birthday. I took my then husband to the homeless caravan with doctors in it in Fremantle because he was having an episode. The doctor had one look at me and grabbed me and gave me medication. Can’t believe how lucky I was to get it fixed immediately.

@Appleblossom those are beautiful memories of your brothers. I'm sorry that they died. Its lovely the way you express your memories of them in the water.

Good evening @Mustang67 @Chasingsunsets @Ruby26 @PeppyPatti @Bunniekins @Oaktree @AuntGlow @Jynx @tyme @Appleblossom and everyone here. Happy Tuesday!

@Oaktree Well done on starting uni. I’m glad you’re enjoying the maths subjects

- not my strong point unfortunately! Good luck with your science course!

@AuntGlow Your uni course sounds very interesting! I hope you enjoy it!

I’ve just had my orientation day for my Bachelor of Social Work course and I really enjoyed it. I found out that a lecturer did his social work placement in a hospital mental health department and it wasn’t the best and they would have preferred something else such at a school so that was interesting. Another lecturer is a social worker at a school part time in their wellbeing team and they love it with more social workers being needed in schools here in Victoria so I’m curious to find out more about this as a placement opportunity in my 3rd or 4th year. I’ve been told to arrange all my holidays in the next 2 years as 3rd and 4th years are full on busy and holidays impossible to do so I’m definitely keeping my New Zealand cruise booked for November next year and paying it off so I can enjoy it before the hard work happens in the following 2 years. Besides, I’m 50 next year so I plan to use the cruise as a late birthday present and my first overseas trip. My housemate is also booked to come on the cruise so it’ll be interesting to see how she goes 3rd time around after experiencing seasickness on our last 2 Queensland cruises. Getting through this uni orientation day was my highlight for today despite coming home tired and needing to rest on my bed for an hour to recharge and recover. Back to uni for the first week of classes next week with me doing 4 subjects this semester so I’m spending the rest of the week reviewing my classes and stocking up on study items such as a weekly planner. I purchased a new iPad on the weekend and I’m lucky I didn’t have to buy a new computer as my current 1 still works despite not being used in over a year. Ah, the life of a uni student!

@Mustang67 I love your diamond art paintings, especially the cat design. I got into diamond painting as something to do when I was at a PARCS facility last year and I really enjoyed it so I’ve continued to do more of them with most of my kits being purchased from Kmart such as coaster kits and bookmarks. I found the hobby to be very enjoyable yet relaxing and therapeutic at the same time as I was able to ignore my mental health issues and focus on the dots which was very help for me which is why I’ve kept it up.

@Chasingsunsets I love the beach but am nowhere near it, especially the waves when they crash against the sand in rainy weather. I find the waves to be emotional as well which is why I like watching them. Being on a cruise ship when the ocean is rough and the weather is bad is also fun for me as it makes the holiday interesting, especially when the pool gets shut off due to being able to surf in it, making it too dangerous to be in. Luckily I don’t get seasick!

Take care!

@Mustang67 well done, I hope you enjoyed the colouring 😍

@Appleblossom @Chasingsunsets @SaltwaterSoul @PeppyPatti @Oaktree @heartathome @Dreamy @Bunniekins @Sophia1 @GezzaP @Shaz51 @AlwaysMyself @Cuddlebear

my highlight for today was to sort out a pile of clothes that needed to be hung up or folded and put away. Goals!
It's been nice, being allowed back on the forums too 🤗 ❤️
