we are chartering a plane to take us to Bergen I have decided!! The more the merrier.

You can't necessarily see the northern lights from Bergen but it's a heck of a lot closer to see them than where we are currently!

PS the max temp in Bergen is 30, although they did have a heatwave when it reached 33 🙂

@SaltwaterSoul hi my friend. I have only just got online in the past hour to check my messages. I stupidly moved some large plant pots last night and ended up with back pain today. I have sciatica and when it's not causing pain I think I am invincible lol. My best friend always says "growing old is not for sissies!" and she's right! I rested for most of the day and now I am feeling better after rest and some pain relief I have decided to cook up a couple of meals so I don't have to worry about it during the next few days. I love cooking but only when I'm in the mood. It reached 36 when I was out, I am glad you are in a cooler part of the country.
Your nature walk sounds wonderful. I love being in nature, it really is quite grounding. I really should get my act together and start walking. There is a train tunnel which is part of John Forest National Park about 20 minutes' drive from me, I should get my bestie to go walking with me as we are both trying to drop some kgs before we go away in October.

Which part of Aus are you in? You don't have to be specific 🙂

PS I love your name too. It conjures images of refreshing sea spray. And I am not a beachgoer!!

I love affogatos! Was it the non al version? I don't drink much alcohol but I do like an affogato as a cocktail every now and then.

My day was quiet, resting and now I am cooking up a few days' worth of dinners. Too hot for much else, 38 was the forecast. It was 36 when I went out earlier and is going to be 39 tomorrow.

Right now I am listening to music and catching up on forum posts xo

I didn't know an affogato came as a cocktail as well. I don't usually drink alcohol either but that sounds nice. I very rarely go into a pub or club so the chances of me having one is pretty low. I had a coffee cocktail once but it's not the same without the ice-cream!

I can't believe the temperatures where you are atm! It's wicked. I love the summer, but those temps are stifling. I hope you can stay cool today in the heat and your day is restful.

@Chasingsunsets thank you for thinking of me ❤️ Unfortunately, the issue at the caravan park could not be settled, so we were forced to be out by the 31st. One of the guys in the park happened to be dating a lady that works at a caravan rental place, so we used her company to hire a caravan, which we have placed at my mum's place. Trying to find a rental is a horrendous task, as there are so many people looking at the same properties. I am not sure what we need to do, to stand out and be selected. I have followed the advice and written a cover letter to go with the application, telling them a little bit about myself and how the different features of the house I am applying for will be beneficial to me.

But now that we are in the caravan, we are going to use this time to save as much money as we can, so we have enough for bond, 2 weeks rent in advance and the first lot of utility bills. Plus, since all my household furniture was destroyed in storage, we need money to buy some basic furniture. Once we have the money, we will start looking again.

@Chasingsunsets great photos from your walk. I really miss not being able to go for my walks anymore. I was supposed to have an appointment with my surgeon on the 5th Feb, but they never informed me of what time the appointment was. And after all the stress of having to find somewhere to live, I wasn't mentally up to going anyway. So now I need to wait to receive an appointment, so I can get the all clear to exercise.

Once I have that, I will be seeing Kieser Physiotherapy to use their specialised equipment to help strengthen my legs, arms and back. Because of the amount of time, I spend in bed because of my depression, I now have muscle loss. So, this year is going to be about building up my strength so I can start to enjoy life a bit more and do more things with my daughter.
