What has been your highlight today, no matter how big or small? Come share 🫶

Hi everyone! This is my first ever forum post so do hope it lands where it’s meant to 🤣

Most days, I like to find a highlight 😊. Usually, that means during a walk with my dog, I try to spot something different, something cool or something that brings me some happiness. Whether it’s something big or small, it doesn’t matter. A highlight can be anything!

I love taking photos and would really like to share and see what you've come across. Something that made you smile, sparked your interest, or simply caught your eye. For me, it’s all the little things that count on the hard days.

To start, I’d like to share these beautiful birds I came across today. They like to appear like branches of a tree or the tree itself. They are called Tawny Frogmouth’s. Has anyone else seen these types of birds? My pics below -(hopefully not too small to see two in the tree on the left pic).

What have you seen today? ☀️💛🙏

That flu is really hanging on @Shaz51! Sure you guys are taking care of yourselves 😊

Have been doing more shifts at the theatre which I am struggling with. Feeling quite exhausted for it.

Last night I went to an author talk of Trent Dalton and I left not long after I got there. Needed to come home and rest 🙃

Hey @Blackcloud I like your highlight of the week nice one re events with your different support workers. It’s sounds like you have been having a lot of fun, so good!! Wow the first time you went and played 10 pin bowling! Nice one!!
It’s so much fun I get competitive 😅 and then feel the more I try to aim I worse 😂😂. The expo sounded good too!!

Ah I see re the decision of study, you feeling good about your decision? TAFE sounds good i wonder what you think you might look at learning there?

Thanks so much for your highlights it definitely gave me some good memories of my time bowling hehe

@Chasingsunsets yes it was my first time doing bowling, I think I did okay for the first time - it's better when I do it with the bumpers up otherwise it would've gone pretty bad if I didn't have the bumpers up otherwise 😂 oh I SO feel you about the more I try aim the worse I get! It's what my support worker even told me as well when we were in her car after the game!

yes I'm feeling very good about the decision to drop out of uni and start TAFE again. I've been doing TAFE courses for a few years now after I graduated high school so I guess doing TAFE and any other hands-on type stuff is the way to go! I'm thinking of looking into Certificate IV in Mental Health and I've just applied my enrolment for that just late last week and I got the offer the day after I submitted it! So I'll be starting that next year in March! After the Mental Health certificate, I hope to move into doing the Certificate IV of Mental Health Peer Work!

There's also a program that I hope to get into (if the interview went successful for me) which starts late January next year - it's a program that's catered towards people with disabilities + those who are diagnosed with autism. It's one of the great ways to make connections/friends and talk to other participants that are part of the program so I hope that goes ok for me although I feel that it's not a guarantee that I'll be able to get the best out of making connections/friends with other people.

hi @rav3n I'm not doing too bad thank you, I've just been trying to put myself a bit 'out there' by participating in events with a support worker as well as trying (if I'm able to) to sign up for group events (that has other NDIS participants in it) too - but only if a support worker can come with me to those events too. Other than that, things have been going ok and I hope it really stays that way considering how much I've been comparing my life to others who seem to be doing a lot better generally than I am...

also, I dropped out of the psychology degree last Friday and will be moving back to doing TAFE again (not the I.T one, I'm planning to do the Certificate IV in Mental Health and then the Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work after that)

Hello lovely!! @Chasingsunsets

So sorry for my delay, I have been playing catch-up. 🙊

I am here Sunday - Thursday at the moment.

Study will take me a while... I am only doing one subject at a time. 😂 Studying is genuinely so challenging to go back to, but I think it's worth exploring and it's helpful for my anxiety brain to be intellectually stimulated. What would you study, if you had the space to do so?

Thank you for saying this, that's so kind of you. 🥹

Aw I appreciate that as well. Trying new things is something I used to be really brave with, so I am slowly delving into that realm again. What would you like to try this coming year? 🥰

Yes! I totally get that. Never be afraid to modify things to suit you and meet you where you're at - especially at the gym!!

Have you been doing anything for you this week? Would love some updates.

I have an iced latte in hand as we speak. hehe

@Shaz51 @MissGremlin what about you? ☕️💅

@AuntGlow a sachet and milk 😂. I put the sachet in a glass, poured in the milk, gave it a good stir and then gulped it down, nothing fancy here 😂.
