What has been your highlight today, no matter how big or small? Come share 🫶

Hi everyone! This is my first ever forum post so do hope it lands where it’s meant to 🤣

Most days, I like to find a highlight 😊. Usually, that means during a walk with my dog, I try to spot something different, something cool or something that brings me some happiness. Whether it’s something big or small, it doesn’t matter. A highlight can be anything!

I love taking photos and would really like to share and see what you've come across. Something that made you smile, sparked your interest, or simply caught your eye. For me, it’s all the little things that count on the hard days.

To start, I’d like to share these beautiful birds I came across today. They like to appear like branches of a tree or the tree itself. They are called Tawny Frogmouth’s. Has anyone else seen these types of birds? My pics below -(hopefully not too small to see two in the tree on the left pic).

What have you seen today? ☀️💛🙏

The support button has disappeared again. I'm sorry you had a bad night last night @DownMoreThanUp . Congratulations on being able to tolerate the noise and chatter and not disassociating from your emotions! 💛

@GezzaP I put grated cheese on top of my chilli con carne, put it under the griller to melt the cheese, followed by a dollop of sour cream.

I am in diet mode now though so there won't be cheese and sour cream the next time I make it! I often do it with rice instead of the corn chips/cheese combo.

@heartathome I’ve been sleeping better except the night before last. I go to bed early so I’m awake early: i like an early morning walk and then to potter in the garden before it gets too warm. I slept for 6 1/2 hours last night which is ok. Might snooze when I read my novel this afternoon. Got some seeds and 3 plants in the post today. Watered plants straight away. They are shade plants. Will sow seeds tomorrow morning. They are climbing plant. Thinking of putting it on balcony.

Hope your day is ok.

Yes @ENKELI it would be fine with rice. Got some seeds and 3 plants in the post today. Watered plants straight away. Will sow some of the seeds tomorrow morning.

I hope your day is going ok.

Hey @GezzaP, how do the plants arrive in the post? I have been looking at buying some plants from Tesselaar but I am unsure about getting plants as opposed to bulbs or seeds. Of course everything has to be quarantined to come into WA as well and I wonder if that would affect the outcome too.

@ENKELI They come bare rooted if fruit trees or roses. Most other things come in a pot. They are well secured. You can ask about delivery to WA in comments section if on facebook or email or phone if on nursery web page. When you get them they must be watered. Many will need to be put in a larger pot and gradually acclimatised to your conditions before putting in ground if your doing that.

Happy gardening. But the hot Summers in WA will make many plants struggle in full sun. Natives are probably your best bet. But fruit trees would be ok too.

@GezzaP I feel like I have my own personal gardening expert, thank you! Tesselaar automatically adds a quarantine fee when the address is in WA and I am mindful when ordering seeds from places like eBay as I have had to cancel a sale because of quarantine so I prefer to use places that do the quarantining.

I have a variety of plants, including spathiphyllum, begonia, kangaroo paw, as well as some herbs and a lemon tree. I grew the lemon tree from seed. Eventually I am going to have a new patio built that will have more room for my plant obsession. I am building a Sane garden at the moment where members of Sane that I am close to have a plant named after them. I want to get a violet and a couple of Strelitzias. I have 2 Strelitzia Nicolai but I want the Juncea with the orange flower.

Any tips are gratefully received 🙂
