What has been your highlight today, no matter how big or small? Come share 🫶

Hi everyone! This is my first ever forum post so do hope it lands where it’s meant to 🤣

Most days, I like to find a highlight 😊. Usually, that means during a walk with my dog, I try to spot something different, something cool or something that brings me some happiness. Whether it’s something big or small, it doesn’t matter. A highlight can be anything!

I love taking photos and would really like to share and see what you've come across. Something that made you smile, sparked your interest, or simply caught your eye. For me, it’s all the little things that count on the hard days.

To start, I’d like to share these beautiful birds I came across today. They like to appear like branches of a tree or the tree itself. They are called Tawny Frogmouth’s. Has anyone else seen these types of birds? My pics below -(hopefully not too small to see two in the tree on the left pic).

What have you seen today? ☀️💛🙏

@Bunniekins Yes so good to meet you here. i have a degree in social science, not been all that helpful either, fighting the demons of my past.

Take care P.T.S.D is a horrible affliction, as is schizo-affective disorder, mind you DID is far from fun either. My alters have been extreme opposites at times, yet Jesus is making peace between my-selves now.😀

Philosophy? WOW. I am way to un intelligent to do that and I have no shame saying that.

So proud of you @Bunniekins ......do you remember how many BOOKS we have read? I used to really, really, really hard Psychotherapy books. wOw. I used to be so clever. Today
I'm happy just to listen to an Anne Tyler novel. I think
I've got @TAB thesis on my computer. I just found my computer. I will search for it now.......

Hi @AlwaysMyself! I am in Melbourne so heavy on the strong hehe

Yours sounds perfect.

I think a record-length post is definitely a highlight. ✨

@DownMoreThanUp @PeppyPatti one of my parents is a psychologist, and yet I had (and still have) a big struggle with depression since childhood lol. They're a very good and effective psychologist (many of their clients refer other people to them - to me, that is a sign of being a helpful/good therapist), but that didn't mean they couldn't have a child/family with a mental illness.

I'm sorry your peers laughed at you @PeppyPatti 😞 . Was it because your son was in hospital?! That sounds quite ignorant on their part, if so.

I have not used my degree major topic. It was "tourism" lol. But I guess I have a better awareness and understanding of tourism-related issues and businesses?

@Jacques Mum does beautiful tapestry. @Jacques Please tell me if Im allowed to say that ( but she does)

@Bunniekins @Chasingsunsets @AlwaysMyself @AuntGlow @TAB @Cuddlebear

How is your move @Cuddlebear ? Thankyou for writing about your feelings. I'm personally finding it really tough. I cannot believe I was blaming MY therapist from trying to keep my oldest son away from me. But..........deeer......I was blaming her for something that happened years ago. I dont know if THERAPY itself is right for everyone thats for sure.

Hi @Chasingsunsets Yes. I did walk very fast yesterday. — a little early for the full sunset, but the sky already had soft shades with the houses and trees in the distance.

The tawny frogmouths — the name itself feels so vivid.

Your time with the lizard reminded me of the blue-tongue that often visited my backyard for water. I’d leave some out, but he was too timid to approach when I was around. Haven’t seen him for a while, and I do miss that presence. Interesting to hear how the one you saw seemed more at ease with people.

I once tried jalapeños cheese but didn’t know what to pair it with. I’ll look out for the crackers you and @PeppyPatti suggested.

Today’s highlight for me was a solid two-hour nap in the afternoon — finally, after running on very little sleep lately.
