Wow 22 years is amazing. It sounds to me like you’ve found the best way to be together and living in the same place is certainly not necessary. If anything it can really make a relationship better.

Good morning @Cuddlebear I'm doing okay! It's on and off raining here but 29 degrees. My partner and I usually last a couple of days before we start annoying each other so wish me luck for 10 days! 😂 We haven't seen each other in ages, and he has gone out of his way to make me comfortable! I'm very appreciative because he's very set in his ways! He's even wearing his hearing aids for me, which he hates. We used to sign to each other but have forgotten most of the signs today because we haven't used them since we were separated by a flood 3 years ago. It's nice to see him again! 💛

@heartathome there were about 35 in the room in a room adjacent to a library. It is a musical community I have been involved in for 3 years. I tried to join it 10 years ago when I first joined Sane. I felt overwhelmed by a lot of high status stuff and politely withdrew. Eg., I come from the wrong side of town or the railway tracks, I guess I always have, if there was even a town involved. Maybe I was on the right side of the haystack, lol.. weary sigh, heavy irony, when we were homeless, cos I am alive while the others are all dead.

I only tippy toed at the edges, of this little community, but very very careful cos of all the past discrimination I have experienced in the broader classical music scene. Then after 5 ish years I ended up on NDIS and with support worker help I stayed alive, and it just evolved gradually step by step that I am more and more involved.

I am not a snob I even tried the rocknroll scene again this year, but it is too loud and bolshie and I have to be careful as I have a neck condition that is easily thrown out of whack.

Wow @Appleblossom ! The involvement in your musical outlet sounds really amazing!! 35 people in a room is a lot, and you play some kind of instrument. I hope I got that right. Thank you for opening up and sharing a part of your journey with me! I am truly honoured! I know how hard it can be! I really hope you didn't feel pressured to say anything!! 🤔 I wouldn't ask questions if I thought it might trigger you or someone else.

I'm so glad that you're still with us!!! 💛 I am sorry about your past! 😔 It sounds like we could have been neighbours somewhere along the line, Appleblossom! I was homeless for a short time in the 70's 😉 I'm pretty open about my life (20 odd years of therapy) but I don't believe I can talk too much about it on this forum, so I'll leave it at that, for the moment.

How can you be a snob because you like some different kind of music? I'm also sorry that you've copped a lot of discrimination from the broader classical music scene! My son was in one of those screaming bands as a teenager and although I wasn't keen on that particular style, I loved seeing the photos from the gigs and little videos. I'm more in 60's, 70's and 80's music, myself especially Fleetwood Mac and Motown. I have always seen myself playing the harp in heaven, though. 🎵 Sending hugs and much love 🌷💛

likewise - started therapy at 17 - years of bad/good good now. I was seeing court appointed psychiatrists at 17 years old. I’m very lucky in hindsight ——-

in retrospect —-

iv paid my own psychotherapy from age 25 years old until age 52 but then ndis took over.
ndis paid for my seperate trauma therapy by [practitioner name - edited by moderator]

i used to think I was seriously fucked up to have to see a therapist. I’m a trauma survivor. It’s very liberating to say this.

Just checking in as I have been AFK (away from keyboard) for a few days dealing with familial issues.

I am having a quiet weekend, lots of Bible study and worship music, did the shopping and planning my back garden.

@GezzaP what sort of phone do you have hon? If it's a Samsung I can give you some instructions that are user friendly (even my mum can follow them!) to crop and reduce the size of photos.

@Bunniekins my darling Bun Bun, dandelions are considered a weed and while I love their flowers I have to consider something else for my Sane garden in your honour. Do you have any other plants you like? Aside from roses and some expensive exotic plants I am happy to get it for you.

I have an apple Iphone. @ENKELI I had a good weekend done a stack of gardening especially today. Just pouring last kettle of boiling water on big weeds and I’ll be finished. Done lots of walking back and forth. Good exercise.
