Feeling caged up

Feeling caged up

The recent medication changes has calmed my brain down. I’m still feeling caged up, I know my psych is looking at more frequent therapy sessions if we can get more under ED plan. Once a month sessions aren’t enough. It just feels like the traumatic memories aren’t ending, I’ve been in therapy for years. It’s taking so long to heal. I just want to get to the point the body flashbacks aren’t so regular

Re: Feeling caged up

Good on you for trying out your usual techniques with self-care @creative_writer it can be really hard to do when depression hits, so even giving it a go shows your strength. It sounds like you really are doing the best you can right now with what you're being faced with and that you're just trying to get through as best you can. I hope being here helps to ease things a little too

@creative_writer I will go to bed early tonight. That seems to suit me best. So watch news and then get ready for bed. Almost dozed off while painter was here. But he was playing a horrid radio station on his phone that was very loud. Had lots of ads. Was in Burmese language with English ads. I couldn’t hear my station.

if you need to go to doc then go. Or at lest do a telehealth or phone appt. Do it in the morning when you’re more energetic.

I’m due a fasting blood test and a mammogram and have other errands to do. Will go early before traffic starts. Probably go next Monday as not so busy at shopping centre. Was going to go Weds but have psychologist phone appt. that I forgot about.

@Ru-bee I have my psych and pdoc appointments next week, I’ve been put on the cancellation waitlist for an earlier pdoc appointment, but nothing so far. I have a GP appointment next week, but my GP can only do so much.

@GezzaP I have a GP appointment booked in for the facial pain. You have to book earlier to get in. I hope you find the psych appointment helpful. I have an eye specialist appointment this Wednesday. My GP appointment is on Thursday.

@creative_writer I’ve gone to bed. I have a cataract that has to be removed in 6 months. I will get a phone appt with my GP when I’ve had my blood test.. i need a med too. Exhausted. Will put plants back tomorrow..

Re: Feeling caged up

@GezzaP I hope tonight is more restful for you. Cataract doesn’t sound so good.

Do you find the GPs tend to get booked out so easily. Not sure if it’s a Melbourne thing. The good ones tend to get booked out, the ones that are more readily available don’t seem to be as good.

Hey @creative_writer,

How are you feeling? Would you like to chat? 🫶

Re: Feeling caged up

@AuntGlow it feels so hard, I know it could be worse. I have the low energy depressive mood, not the agitated I'm on edge type. [edited by moderator] I feel beyond exhausted, can't help but think everyone would be better off without me. Can't seem to get away from the pain, it constantly follows me. Am I doing self-care wrong if it's not enough?

Re: Feeling caged up

It sounds like things are feeling really big for you tonight @creative_writer. Know that we are here with you , okay?

I can definitely hear how overwhelmed you are right now, so I am wondering, what could help you to feel even 1% more soothed for the next 10 minutes? Can we start there?

You are absolutely not doing self-care wrong! You are doing amazing work. Sometimes we are intensely confronted with our pain and it can be such an awful feeling... but that doesn't mean you have done anything wrong. 💛

@AuntGlow it feels like a lot and I don't know what to do. It's just been getting out of hand when I thought it was more under control. I've just had something to eat and just took my meds, it takes a while for the drowsiness to kick in. Will try to go to bed by 10pm.

I'm trying to breathe right now. Box breathing helps, it helps to focus my attention outside of my body, my body also feels wrong
