Feeling caged up

Feeling caged up

The recent medication changes has calmed my brain down. I’m still feeling caged up, I know my psych is looking at more frequent therapy sessions if we can get more under ED plan. Once a month sessions aren’t enough. It just feels like the traumatic memories aren’t ending, I’ve been in therapy for years. It’s taking so long to heal. I just want to get to the point the body flashbacks aren’t so regular

Re: Feeling caged up

I’m doing my chair yoga and physio exercises @creative_writer . Working on core and arms.

Should put stuff back on the shelf in spare bedroom. Got a stack of photocopied articles. Light bulbs, guitar and charango strings and lord knows what else. The jigsaw puzzles can stay on the bookshelf in the hallway. I completely forgot about this chore these last few days.

Did wash sheet that got paint on it but didn’t come off. Will have to scrape it off.

The sun has come out here but there is another cloud coming in off the sea. I’m 5 minutes walk from the beach.

Puss is sitting on my lap. She knows she’s not allowed out now - it’s too late.

Re: Feeling caged up

I can hear you are doing your absolute best @creative_writer 💛

How did meal-prep go?

I think anything you can do that helps you to feel good is perfect! And that can look like anything.

I was thinking, (and you can totally say no), but would you like to work on following some short creative writing prompts together? I thought it might be fun to explore and share ideas? I know you have limited space at the moment, so this is absolutely just an invitation.

Let me know your thoughts! 🥰

Chair Yoga is amazing!! And still so effective. @GezzaP

Aww, bless. Yes, it is very rainy where I am today too!

Did you get back to reading at all? 🫶

Re: Feeling caged up

@AuntGlow I started reading but nodded off for 15 minutes nanna nap. Don’t like falling asleep during the late afternoon so stopped reading. Went to bed early. Awoke early. Knew I would because I want to drive before the traffic starts. I will park and then go for a walk. Will then go to supermarket and cafe before my chiro appt.

I hate driving but have to because painter is coming at 11am.

I’m tired. Had lots of coffee. Will have an early breakfast.

Re: Feeling caged up

@GezzaP I reckon chair exercises and physio are a great place to start to gain some strength.

It sounds lovely to be 5 mins from a beach. The beach is so far from where I’m at.

@AuntGlow meal prep went okay.

I started a poem the other day but never got around to finishing it. It’s about generational trauma. Things are still looking down today, I’m looking at caving into the wrong ways of coping, I need to survive, what if it helps me survive? I’m super low.

Re: Feeling caged up

Yes @creative_writer normally I walk about 5 km along beach esplanade, but we have the algal bloom here in SA atm. It makes you cough and wheeze. So I haven’t been there much.

Just walking to local shop real slow. There’s a native plant gully too but it’s a bit hilly with lots of steps. So I huff and puff a bit when I go there. Besides it’s cold today. Too tired to walk anymore today. Walked from car 3 blocks there and 3 back to chiro this morning. Two trips up driveway to go to letter box then one more to get recycling bin.

Gut playing up today. Sorry to hear you are down. I’m ok just cold and tired.

Re: Feeling caged up

@GezzaP we have a lot of pollen going around here in Melbourne. Allergies are tricky.

I hope walking gets easier for you, not a great feeling to huff and puff. I hope you get some relief from your gut symptoms.

Depression is hitting pretty hard right now. SI still very present ( I’m safe). I’m just tired and don’t feel like going on.

Hey @creative_writer it's been a bit since we've caught up and I can see things are feeling really hard right now so I just wanted to send some support your way 💜

Re: Feeling caged up

I’ve just had a sneezing outburst @creative_writer . Took a hay-fever tablet just now.

Emptied my very full recycling box. Yellow bin was full yesterday when I put it out no room for stuff in box.

Yellow bin emptied a couple of hours ago.

Having a few drinks very thirsty due to tiredness.

Puss has been inside a lot today due to the cold weather. Was a bit worried she would knock paint over or get under painter’s feet but luckily no.

Sorry you are feeling low I know what that's like! But due to not sleeping I’m on a high. Have spent some money on unit and garden stuff. Probably too much.

Oh well my super gained 13,000 last financial year so I could afford withdrawal I just made. It is a high performing fund most years. Bit concerned about performance of world economy for next few years while Trump in power. I hope he doesn’t try to stay in power beyond his constitutional 2 terms.

Re: Feeling caged up

@Ru-bee I want to get away from my mind, like I've been trying but it doesn't feel enough. I've got my self care and everything, but it still feels too hard. Like I know relying on substances won't fix anything, but my mind is drifting off to it. Maybe if I could function and complete tasks, I would be able to move through it better. I have no motivation, I have no energy, I feel like I need something to help me. Sitting like this is just driving me crazy and my thoughts only get darker. Constant intrusive trauma thoughts is only going to make me spiral.

I am safe, I will do everything safely if I do end up going down that path, I just don't have access yet.

@GezzaP I have to go to the doctors, my face has been in pain. Has been since I got the viral infection more than a month ago. Not sure if it's allergies or something else mixed in. I hope you can get some sleep soon.
