The recent medication changes has calmed my brain down. I’m still feeling caged up, I know my psych is looking at more frequent therapy sessions if we can get more under ED plan. Once a month sessions aren’t enough. It just feels like the traumatic memories aren’t ending, I’ve been in therapy for years. It’s taking so long to heal. I just want to get to the point the body flashbacks aren’t so regular
@AuntGlow I can’t move forward, I feel stuck. I’m letting the trauma control me, I can’t control it. Hence why I feel useless

@AuntGlow my head is aching a lot today, wonder why if that why I’m extra cranky. I feel restless and agitated, and I don’t even know why. SI is starting to pick up, but I’m safe

Pain can definitely exacerbate agitation @creative_writer. I think everything you are experiencing makes a lot of sense when you put it into context. It sounds like things are feeling overwhelming and stuck in the body and I can only imagine how intense this must be for you... your progress definitely isn't gone. Part of healing is an ebb and flow between changed behaviour and familiar patterns - it takes time. 💛
Something that has been helping me to ride these waves is acknowledging that this feeling isn't coming from my most trusting, anchored self. And I think knowing that this more grounded part exists (even if it is really small and we are still learning to access it), can be really helpful.
What would the more trusting part of yourself have to say right now?

Re: Feeling caged up
@AuntGlow the migraine pain was bad enough for it to make me nauseous from dinner. Which obviously makes it a bit harder when I have a poor relationship with food. My stomach hates migraines, my stomach issues sort of get worse with the pain, I can get embarrassing stomach gurgling noises.
It’s hard with migraine pain relief. I would probably need to get another prescription for migraine relieving meds since my script is expired. They only come in small packets, so pretty pricey for what you get. The OTC cause stomach issues.
I know I’ve gotten through bad periods before. I’ve gotten through urges before, despite colourful and creative urges (SI). I know I’ve used my creativity positively before, but it’s annoying when my mind uses it for other purposes. I know safe, body flashbacks aren’t real and suicidal thoughts are thoughts. Still pretty hard, but I guess all we can do is hang on. I just hope it passes, suicidal urges get harder to resist over time, especially when my mind goes to places

Re: Feeling caged up
These thoughts are racing and won’t stop. Maybe I do need rest, just got to wait a bit longer till bed, hopefully I can sleep. Just when I thought the bipolar was controlled. I wish I didn’t have to keep fighting urges and they would go away. No idea what to do, already had my meds upped recently. This feels like a nightmare. I need the thoughts to stop, I need the memories to stop. I need it to stop. I need the OCD, trauma, anxiety and disordered eating thoughts to stop

Do you think talking to someone on a phone line might help @creative_writer ?
I'm not sure if you are under 25 years old, but Kidshelpline has a webchat you can try?

@tyme I just realised I missed your notification, I took my meds earlier today, hopefully sleep will stabilise my mood.
I’m actually too old for KidsHelpline, haven’t used them for years. I do use other helplines, it’s dependent on what I need at the time.

I'm glad to hear you that you use other helplines. Sometimes, just having an ear can be helpful.
Please rest up and I'll see you next time @creative_writer

Oh, @creative_writer, I am so sorry things are this intense for you right now. I truly wish I could take all of this distress away... it sounds like so much for your mind and body to go through each day.
Before I come back tomorrow, can you have a think about what the best possible thing I could reflect on or do with you when you're feeling this way might be?
Perhaps we can come up with a grounding plan of sorts? Let me know your thoughts. I hope you sleep well. 💛
