Feeling caged up

Feeling caged up

The recent medication changes has calmed my brain down. I’m still feeling caged up, I know my psych is looking at more frequent therapy sessions if we can get more under ED plan. Once a month sessions aren’t enough. It just feels like the traumatic memories aren’t ending, I’ve been in therapy for years. It’s taking so long to heal. I just want to get to the point the body flashbacks aren’t so regular

Re: Feeling caged up

@GezzaP I hope the healthier food helps. It can make a huge difference to your mood. 6 smokes is still progress, I believe in you. I hope things keep looking up for your cat.

I’m exhausted. Usually I am by this time, I’m more of a morning person, my energy crashes by afternoon.

Re: Feeling caged up

@creative_writer Yes I’m a morning person too. Getting tired now. Cat seems to like one of the food sachets. She has just woken up and gone outside.

Did you do your workout today?

Re: Feeling caged up

@GezzaP the day’s exhaustion just picks up around afternoon. Probably a consequence of living with mental health and chronic pain.

Cats have their own minds about what they want to eat and not eat.

I did my morning workout and showered afterwards. I feel like showers can feel like a lot. I try not to wash my hair too often because it’s so dry, have to spend a long time moisturising it

Re: Feeling caged up

@creative_writer I have oily hair but I can get away with only washing it once a week. It is not as oily as it used to be.

Good on you for doing your workout and showering.

I get back pain when I’m depressed. That was caused by sitting at the computer so much in the last weeks of writing my PhD. Do exercises for my back when I’m up to it.

Starting to get hungry. Always do at this time of day. Will start thinking about what to have.

Re: Feeling caged up

Good afternoon @creative_writer,

Are you feeling any better today? 💛

And have you made a go-to self-soothing list so you don't have to think too much in the moment?

And it sounds like you have done all that you can @GezzaP... so taking care of yourself is paramount right now. I am glad you booked your GP appointment and that you're continuing to reach out and connect here. You should be really proud of yourself. 🥰

Re: Feeling caged up

@GezzaP depression doesn’t help pain. Do you know what you’re going to have for dinner.

@AuntGlow a short free consult with an ED dietician who also specialises in gut health. I have mixed feelings for letting go of the ED. I was doing better in the morning, feel a bit run down this afternoon. I haven’t made a list of self-soothing activities, maybe I did in the past, but I don’t have a list with me right now

Re: Feeling caged up

Thanks @AuntGlow I didn’t manage to cook dinner. Was too hungry to wait. Had tinned soup and bread. I’m fading fast as per usual in the evening. Hanging out to speak to my GP on Thursday.

Re: Feeling caged up

@creative_writer I got too hungry to wait for dinner so I just microwaved some tinned soup and had that with bread and butter. Too tired to cook. Gave in to the smoking urge and had 1/2 a smoke after dinner.

puss ate all her dinner which hopefully means she’ll keep eating that food.

Re: Feeling caged up

@GezzaP depression can be exhausting. Maybe when you feel up to cooking, make it all in a bunch. I meal prep for 3-4 days. Sometimes it is hard giving into urges. I’ve been struggling with ED, I know I’m engaging in risky behaviour but I can’t help it.

Let hope she keeps eating the food.

Re: Feeling caged up

@creative_writer I’m going to try to cook in the morning tomorrow. Thought I’d make chilli con carne. I’ve got some mince and kidney beans. I think I’ve got some tinned tomatoes too. Going to take mince out of freezer now. I can have it with corn on the cob I bought today. If I can muster the energy I’ll go to buy some tortillas.

What’s ED?
