Re: Hi

Yep, I tried not to let it get big @tyme

When I was reminded I did what I had to do, which is why being reminded helps

sometimes… but I also know why how I react to it can be different or confusing for people

Today it helped.

No we just went local because today was a work day so we just went down the road to the beach and theres a milk bar there so we just got one from the cabinet and then walked along the path and ate our icecreams at the look out

Oh nice!! That will be fun. Have you got a tent, swag?

planning a weekender here too

maybe caravan if we get our hands on it? Will talk to Mrs AD caravan if it’s all of us with the bub or tent/swags if it’s me and kids

Re: Hi

That's amazing progress @ArraDreaming ! You should see my happy tears. It is so powerful that we can reflect on these moments and really see the growth.

Do you kiddos still ever go to your work? It's school holidays soon, maybe they can meet you there! I'm sure the kids don't mind what icecream they get, as long as it's icecream!

My sister's kids are spoilt, but it's my fault. I spoil them. My sister doesn't. Then again, if I don't spoil them, who will? That's the joy of not having my own kids!

You're amazing... I hope you get out there. The kiddos will love it. And yes, we are going tent, swag and all. The first time we went, the baby was in a porta cot. Now, she's 5 years old!

I think we all know that once kids get to a certain age, they won't want to go anymore, and that's why we are taking them most holidays.

Re: Hi

today it simmered kinda quick @tyme

I was also really honest with the people around me and said that noise is really doing my head in I cant stand that (that was what was tipping me over the edge), but I said it in a semi joking way and walked out of the room so I could get some space knowing I couldnt move the noise but I could move myself

They might come to my work, Mrs AD likes to come around every so often for lunch and a coffee sometimes in the holidays big kids come for a couple hours ride there bikes and stuff

we are just having some logistically car things happening right now

how fun will that be @tyme

Re: Hi

Spot on @ArraDreaming ! Love it! The noise may be doing your head in, and you know you can't move the noise, but you can remove yourself. That's the way!

I think it took me many many years to learn that. So please don't think you are behind in learning it lol. You are doing such an amaizng job at being so reflective, and now you are working on what to do from there.

Way to go mate!

So when I take the kiddos camping, I'll be taking all of next week off. But I hope to pop in and see if there are any worthwhile photos to share lol @ArraDreaming

I hope you get the caravan!

Remember a while ago, the government was giving vouchers for people to go to caravan parks? I don't know what happened to that.

Re: Hi

It was only reflection @tyme

In the moment I just thought I gotta get out of here, that f*cking thing is grating me and I could have

1. carried on made a scene or

2. let it fester and get internally mor and more angry until I couldn’t handle it anymore and vented

but after I thought about that was good I did that and it was good I took the reminder to step away from venting on here

I feel like something has switched on in my brain this last week… I been doing a lot more thinking and my brain is a lot less “blank” than it has been, sometimes I genuinely don’t have a reason or an answer for anything about the way I am sometimes I even forget I do things but this week… idk, maybe its running?
cause when I run I don’t wear headphones

thinking time… the ideas flow

the caravan is just my Mrs parents, but we don’t have a car that can fit us all so it might be just be me and the boys and no caravan, not sure, depends on things

Re: Hi

You guys camping anywhere cool @tyme

Re: Hi

That's great that you recognise that and you are working on your bank of strategies. Everyone's gotta start somewhere.

Nah, we're city people. So nothing too bushy or remote. We've got toilets and all lol. I don't think we're up to proper camping. This the the extent. I'm sure your son would be a better camper than us all! @ArraDreaming

Re: Hi

@tyme
Yeah, i am not perfect but i want to do better, I am really trying my hardest
Big 4 is good for families and all ghat
When we all go we try to go somewhere like that or at least with amenities just cause little kids, but the boys and I are easy
We just go anywhere we can find, like a time we camped I slept on the Ute tray in my swag so I didn’t have to set it up just unrolled it and slept in it like that hahaha
We don’t really mind what we do

My kids are easier to parent when outside @tyme

Re: Hi

I want to not just think about things especially not just after
I want to understand myself before things happen @tyme
But that’s a long road hey,
Does it just happen aNd you use the skill and then you reflect and realise why you did it AFTER, kinda like todayor do you need to build up the muscle and actively tell yourself to use your strategies before it becomes 2nd nature
I think the second? maybe the first one only works to reflect on negative behaviour or something
Am I making sense @tyme
