my in laws are down so they stayed in there little holiday place so they visited yesterday then we went and hung out down there today its in like a holiday park thing so the kids just played and rode there bikes and we had a bbq
Stopped at Bunnings on the way home but my kid ruined the fun and screamed the whole time and then we drove past the local fair and that was my bad
that was absolute shithouse on my part
My kids will never live it down that they thought were going to the fair and then did a u bolt in the opposite direction and took a detour @Jynx

oh noooooo hahaha @ArraDreaming like going to a dentist next door to Disneyland or something, lol the disappointment!! Maybe you can surprise em with a lil fair-trip in the summer hols!

It’s a once a year thing they do here it’s expensive and kinda sucks
We don’t take our kids to it we can barely afford groceries I don’t reckon we’ll ever earn enough to go to that

@ArraDreaming I definitely have the 'nostalgia glasses' on whenever I think about my memories of the fair haha. Like I LOVED showbags, and the bumper cars were always soooo fun - tho my fav was the gravitron (big spinny thing where you 'stick' to the wall cos of centrifugal force).
However, that was back when rides cos like $3-5 and showbags were under $20. No idea how much it is now but I imagine it's....scary 😅
Plus looking back...the showbags were just full of crap haha sticky hands that got dirty in like 2 minutes, little cheapo toys that were fun for all of 90s, and other little bits of plastic crap that ended up in a garage sale within the year 🤣

Sure, the kids would enjoy it but they would also enjoy a bunch of other things that would not send us broke @Jynx I’m all for “do it for the kids” but if its at the sacrifice of affording apples, no, also…. I don’t dig holes in the 1c or the 35c+ to earn a living for my kids to turn bratty at a fair because I sure as hell know that it wouldnt last longer then 10 minutes

Our 2yo has entered her NO phase and seriously she’s demonic someone call a priest
She demands we play music on the tv then sing into a fake microphone and won’t take no as an answer
