Recovering from a psychotic episode at the moment.

Recovering from a psychotic episode at the moment.

Friday, the week before last, the voices in my head began taking over and soon after that i lost touch with my reality off and on until later Tuesday morning.Thank God i did nothing stupid, nor did i damage my relationship with my wife, as has happened in times past when psychotic.

Since late Tuesday morning no more voices, so that is good, but i'm so very tired and still not able to sleep. The problem i'm paranoid to drug myself out, because sleepers often don't work when i'm like this, and then i still wont be able to sleep, but will feel absolutely horrible from the sleepers confusing and clouding my mind, still running non stop anyhow. So when i take sleepers when in this state i run the real risk of making things worse rather helping me get some rest.

Hey 3am

Currently i'm having real problems sleeping as my mind wont stop!!!😪 i know from past psychotic times, i best let the mental energy flow run its natural course as much as possible, until my mind calms down enough to get more sleep.

Anyone else runs in these problems?

@heartathome Okay! Yes i have heard of the rat experiment a long time ago, but cannot remember the details or outcome. i did once do a study on a pilot program done in Britain. Where patients with very painful cancer and who were most likely to succumb to their physical affliction in the near future were given opium 24/7 to help manage the pain.

The outcome was astonishing at the time!

Some of the key points i remember were.

  • The patients showed no signs of any negative addictive behaviours or issues, either health wise, personally or socially.
  • A much higher number of patients recovered from their (deadly) cancer for they did no longer need the energy to fight the pain, and their bodies put it to better use.\
  • Those who recovered showed basically NO 'cold turkey' kind of stress or behaviours coming of the opiates, even though at times they been using 24/7 for more than 12 months.
  • All patients became socially much more active, visiting friends and having a good time.

And yes i'm in the same boat. i can now listen to short videos, e.g 30 minutes or so, but more often than not have to stop, and have a break. That is if i want to listen longer. It will have to be a very interesting video, or article for me to do that.

i have not read a novel or study book for for more that 20 years. For apart of the word of God. However i no longer read it for long periods of time. Only ever for instruction and guidance when i find it hard to hear the living word within about something i struggle with. Otherwise i read no other books or watch movies.

The only full movie i have been able to watch over the last 30 years are

'The Shack'. However this was only a few years ago, after much healing had already taken place. i was only able to watch it in just two sittings, for i found it challenging to see how the author portrayed our Heavenly Father, Jesus and The Holy Spirit. i did end up enjoying the movie, after the initial challenge it posed to my concept how best to play/portray God in a movie. Although i did think the movie missed out displaying Jesus as The Key (in)to the Godhead.

And 'Nell'! Already years ago i managed to watch that movie and loved it. Indeed i love everything about the movie Nell from beginning to end. If i remember rightly i watched it in one sitting. Which in itself is expectationally.

Instead of reading, watching movies or going out, i have been trying to love to death those place inside of me where lovelessness reigns towards Jesus, myself, or others. This is what Jesus has me do to escape my life often rained under by mental pain due to suffering from a depressive illness.

Yes, Gabor can interesting. @DownMoreThanUp There are so many celebrities in so many fields.

I spoke to someone yesterday who works with homelessness. I am glad when they are doing good work. What is a want and what is a need, is how I work with it all.
