@GezzaP hey Gez, I read you have R/C ducted air con and wanted to ask you a bit about it as I was considering having it installed in my house. I guess being electric it would be costly to run. Are you able to isolate parts of the house so that only certain rooms are heated? I wonder if that would actually make a difference in cost.
I would love to just get a couple of split system units but the way my house is built there are limited places the outside unit can be placed.
Maybe I should just stick to the gas heater and be happy with that!
Thanks in advance for your insight 🙂

@GezzaP my hot water is electric now had it changed over some years ago. My cooktop is still gas. Kind of saw where gas prices were going and possible restrictions. Im still with the same provider but do look around they are 100% Australian owned which is why i have stuck with them in the past. Yes it can be a bother changing over but i dont think you save much.

@ENKELI Yes ducted r/c air is expensive to run you have to have ducts open in 2 parts of the house (4 ducts in my case). I have the duct closed in the 2nd bedroom. I only heat or cool that if I have someone staying which is rare. I don’t run it much in the winter.

@SmilingGecko I think I can save by changing my electricity plan have been exploring options this afternoon. Think I should change to one of their battery plans. Need to remember to check if I have a smart meter keep forgetting to do that. I’m scatter brained.
