@GezzaP I am slowly catching up on my posts!
I am definitely not putting carpet down again in the living area! I have lived with slate floors as well as tile and both are very cold in the winter. I have cork in the kitchen and dining area which is great, low maintenance and warm.
I am not sure what colour I want in the living room, the carpet is grey and matches the curtains and couch but I will be replacing both. I am considering hybrid or vinyl. It's only a small space but eventually I'd like to do the formal lounge and hallway in the same.
Your post didn't offend me Dr Gezza (😍), I have learnt that the forum is predominantly left and so try not to put my 2 cents in. I haven't experienced racism as I said and while I have no doubt it exists, I just haven't seen it. I have been abused and passed over for being Caucasian. Living in country towns such as Geraldton, Kalgoorlie and Broome showed me a different perspective.
Anyway, it's not something I want to continue as it has the potential to end friendships so I prefer not to talk about politics or other touchy subjects as much as possible.
I used to be very involved in politics and had worked for members of both state and federal parliament and saw a lot of things I didn't like on both sides. I am no longer involved in politics as I don't like what is happening with the major parties in Australia.
I have stated before that I don't like having to read posts about politicians, both Australian and foreign. No matter what I think about a politician they deserve the respect of their position and bagging them all the time goes against that. Trump is very divisive and I have American friends who voted for and against him - I hear enough about him in news reports and Facebook, I am truly sick of having to read it on Sane, so now I just ignore these comments, even if they are addressed to me.
Lol, I started this post at about 4.30, thought it was posted before I left for a vet appt and just came back at 6pm to see it still sitting there!

I’m sorry @ENKELI . I was a politics lecturer. I am very political. One of the very few true lefties in my experience at university despite the popular opinion that all university academics are privileged lefties. I was in the minority. I didn’t earn a huge salary either but I did manage to buy a unit with a mortgage. I paid it off by going without luxuries. Did get to travel a lot, however. Once got a government grant for travel to US and Latin America. I want to go back but would get deported or detained under Trump because they go through your social media posts. I have some progressive friends and former students.

@GezzaP glad to hear you shouldn't have to pay for it. I found out that it's covered by Medicare so that's good to know.

Hello @GezzaP I try not to be prescriptive but this is what I used to use as a complementary treatment for my mood disorder. I have not seen a shrink in over 17 years apart from recently trying to taper. I have not had an episode in all that time. No depression, no mania, no psychosis and my symptoms were severe. I was in the public system and was getting nowhere,. You said you cant afford health insurance because you need your psychiatrist. Many people are getting results from this information. I did too. You only have to check social media for testimonials.
