Hello @ENKELI just cleaning and going through storage. Kitchen is looking a lot better. I've certainly been busy today. My plants are indigenous Australian plants so quite hardy but the box hedge out the back could do with a watering. Its going to be dry over winter and hardly any rain. They were talking about introducing water restrictions. I'm using a half flush on my loo and 5 min showers so I can meet single household target on my water bill. I was a little bit over the target last bill but I think I can cut down my water usage a bit more. I love warmer weather but not too hot but will be glad to see the back of the extreme heat. You said you wanted to cut back on sugar with diabetes. The big supermarkets sell monkfruit sugar which doesnt cause a blood sugar spike, and is sweet like sugar and is diabetic friendly. The brand name is Lankanto. Your pancreas will say thankyou

@SmilingGecko I am having the same issue, broken sleep. Mine is related to the heat more though I think. Woke up at 10 and headed straight for the shower (after checking that GypsyMonroe wasn't sleeping in the recess!) and now I am trying to get the energy up to go out to pick up a script.
Lol I just read your second message! Thank you for that. I will grab some when I go up to the shopping centre later. I am also going to try unsweetened almond milk as well (thanks @tyme for the info!)
The irony is that up until I started on diabetes medication I never had a sweet tooth. I was always in favour of savoury and only ever ate a Snickers bar at that time of the month. Once the 'pause hit I started wanting sweet things and now I sometimes really crave sugar. I'm not happy with my weight or how I look so I need to do something.
Fortunately I love fresh veggies so I won't have trouble with eating healthier that way, just the sugar cravings that I need to say bye bye to!
Thanks again xoxo

@TAB Its hard to get organised when you are sick. Now that I've been feeling better after thyroid dilemma I can tackle my storage with a plan! So glad youre doing well after heart procedure. A big tick of approval ✔️

@PeppyPatti Not sure which are the tablets that start with H Pepster?
I had cucumber and an egg last night. Then ate a rocky road flavoured bun. I have chocolate in the fridge that I should throw out but I'm not good at wasting food.
I am going to Coles later to get some more veggies, I have carrots and cukes but need to get more.
I am trying to get excited to try different ideas for dinner too.
No more hazelnut latte, waaaaah!
We can do it Peppy darling, we CAN DO IT!

@Glisten who are these diabetes people of which you speak?! My GP told me I had age related diabetes, not food related and put me on 2 medications.
I didn't get to ask him about the cravings as he retired, selfish man!! I am considering going to see a dietician if I can afford it.
I am going to try unsweetened almond milk and also sugar substitutes such as monk fruit.
Lots of veggies and eggies. No sweeties.
And prayer. Lots of prayer also helps me 🙂
And I keep having to edit my posts because I forget stuff! I used to be able to buy Finn Crisp which are Finnish sourdough crackers but the supermarkets don't carry them anymore so I go for Ryvita or Cruskits.

@TAB thanks for reminding me. I watered my Ficus last night and saw 3 of the buggers scurrying into the shed. Time for traps.
