@Appleblossom I do resistance bands normally but decided to do dumbbells for a change. It feels sooooo good! I'm following a 76 year old lady on youtube who is fitter than the younger generation and offers a guide to youthful living.

hanging in there @StuF
@SmilingGecko I usually do both resistance bands and weights, but not yet today. I did have a lovely walk last night with my son, and stint in the garden this morning. So I just keep it mildly active without pushing too hard. I just cant do that with my neck condition.https://www.youtube.com/shorts/jXNtitE4LKo

I do enjoy weights @Appleblossom I have not done that squat with resistance bands or dumbells but will give it a go! Thanks for the share. My body feels better for weight training. My meds turn everything to fat not to muscle so have to try and build muscle through weight training. Its also good for my blood sugar as the glucose gets soaked up by muscles. I'm glad I bought my dumbells this week. The training is great for my wellbeing. Its kind of different to what I'm used to but would say I prefer dumbells over resistance bands

@Honeymoon hi Honeymoon its not my meds its my schizoaffective disorder diagnosis. sometimes i just see things, hear things. i am scared the doc might want to increase my meds which i dont want cause the meds have awful side effects like weight gain and poisoning of the body. psych meds are awful imho.

Hi @Bunniekins
Thanks for clarifying that, much appreciated!
It makes total sense to feel worried about medication changes if you've experienced side effects before, and you deserve to have your concerns taken seriously. If you feel able to, it could help to write down the specific side effects you're most worried about and take that to your next appointment - your doctor may be able to talk through options or adjust doses gradually.
For many of us, medication is an important part of staying safe and improving mental health.
