Yes living alone used to bother me @GezzaP now most of the time I'm happy on my own. Its just hard when things arent the best. I could do with some company. Anyway just got back from the GP and went to the hairdressers. Had my hair cut a bit shorter. It really needs to be dyed. I checked out "Hairprints" dye a while ago. Its a natural way to dye your hair without chemicals. Many healers recommend it as its totally non toxic unlike commercial dyes. Its not a dye as such it is green technology to restore your hair to its original color. Its so safe you can eat it. It comes from the USA. I havent checked prices it may cost a bit much for my budget given the exchange rate. Would be nice to be without grey hair

I have just accepted my grey hair it doesn’t bother me in the slightest @SmilingGecko . My sister’s hair is white and she’s a year younger than me. I can live with grey. Looking forward to seeing helper tomorrow and getting out of house. Got electricity bill was a bit more than I was hoping oh well. Next bill should be in credit now I’ve got new panels and a battery.

@GezzaP Theres something wrong with my solar power. I've been on the phone to them and havent heard back. I read solar power could get more expensive for those on lower incomes. That was in The Age. You wouldnt think that could happen. They all promote going solar to cut costs and they do this to people. Have you heard about households being slugged with bigger bills with solar? It was in the news
I just checked Hairprints, its AU$75 plus over $145 postage, CRAZY no way hose`

I haven’t heard that about solar @SmilingGecko . I know that in the new financial year power companies must provide 3 hours of free power between 10am and 3pm. Government new law. Guess I’ll find out about if they’re ripping off people with solar on my next bill befausr it should be in credit.

Australian Energy Market Commission (AEMC) is proposing a shift from variable network charges to fixed daily connection charges, which experts warn will disproportionately harm low-income households and energy-efficient users.
Low-income households are projected to be $100 to $200 worse off annually, as they typically consume less electricity and would face higher fixed costs.
Households with solar panels and batteries could see bills rise by $400 to $700 per year, undermining the financial benefits of clean energy investments.
In contrast, high-energy users, such as wealthier families, may benefit by up to $1,400 annually due to lower variable charges under the new model.
The change stems from a grid overhaul driven by 4.3 million solar-powered homes reducing overall electricity demand, making it harder to recover network maintenance costs.
The AEMC’s draft report argues the reform would improve cost-sharing and lower system-wide expenses, but critics say it penalizes responsible energy users.
Submissions on the proposal close on February 13, 2026. Energy Minister Chris Bowen has urged regulators to ensure changes deliver cheaper bills for consumers.

Yes it sucks badly @GezzaP just thought I'd let you know. Dont know if the proposal has gone ahead. It closes today. Might hear something in the news about it again tomorrow maybe. I went solar in 2023 and now my panels wont work. I think I might go and grab some rest. Thats good you are feeling better. I'm missing @TAB I hope he's ok I really do
