How are things?

i've been really struggling with sleep. last night only two hours the night before less than 4, last two months average about 4 hours but the last week it has steadily become worse again. Feel sick from exhaustion and still my mind wont slow down.

I am in a Bipolar manic phase and I can't get my mind to STFU! 🤬

After a work accident,.my insomnia and PTSD symptoms have increased exponentially.

Have you ever tried chamomile tea at all? It helps me sleep.

I've had sleep disturbances in the past when more unwell, but thankfully not these days.

I'd love to offer solutions, but I dare say you've tried them all at this stage. Well, any that I know of at least.

@BipolarRich i'm on a very highest dosage sleeping aids. And this is the best result i have been able to get. Adding a psych meds has helped in the past. However i run some risks as well. The meds will not stop my voices but it will crash my mood. Also last time i took them in similar circumstance as now, i went psychotic and if not for my wife at the time things would have run out of hand.

i'm on my own now. Both an increase in depression as well as psychosis could be detrimental perhaps even more than the possible benefits i might gain.

So not sure what to do at the moment. My GP was going to check on me tomorrow morning i will discuss it with him.

I don't have any quick fixes for dealing with sleep problems.

Sleep deprivation is a monster all of its own.

I slept for 6 hours last night for the first time in weeks after my physio/acupuncture session.

Have been doing the warm malt drink, limited eating, screens off, new pillows etc etc.

Have to admit to using strong, sleep inducing medication.

Highly recommend the acupuncture even though I'm a bit tender today.

I really hope you find something that works for you.

I'm pondering deeply, reflecting on being graceful to myself,
Awakened, I feel the urgent need to give myself gentle care.

Noticing new awareness quietly re-stabilising the shape I feel within.
No living moment remains untouched by this peaceful awareness,
For although hard pressed, a good life can still be lived down here.

hi @DownMoreThanUp this is such a beautiful poem and a good reminder about how important gentleness towards ourselves can be so powerful and sometimes all we can do is be accepting and gentle and acknowledging that we are doing the best we can, I love the gentle and bright image with the poem too.
