Despair *potential trigger: abuse*

Despair *potential trigger: abuse*

Hi

I have been diagnosed with PTSD, anxiety, social anxiety, and depression.

I saw a trauma psychologist for 10 months twice a week, but she stopped seeing me when my safety became an issue while processing the trauma.

My symptoms are so bad now I isolate myself in the car everyday to avoid triggers and flashbacks. Unable to go to strange places, talk to people. Just don't belong anywhere. Anxiety so bad I shake most of the time, chest pain and hard to breathe... This isn't living......

I'm too damaged to be helped, I have tried but no one will help me..... They just tell me its too complex and they are unable to help. I don't know what do do I have no support isolated, alone and scared....

Re: Despair *potential trigger: abuse*

I am glad you still have your 4WD and go bush, you are so lucky to have a change of scenery. i have been doing some day trips of a weekend, my uncle at christmas gave me a good second hand car, i was so shocked, anyway mum and i go for a day trip once a week to try to get me used to being out of the house.

i know how difficult it must be for you to go their, have you thoguht of finding another place to go, somewhere you can be happy, make good memories?

i am so sorry you get no support from your parents, it is hard for people who don't suffer like we do to understand, have you thought of getting them some information about PTSD? maybe worth a go, i am so sad you have not managed to get some place for yourself, so you can be at peace and have somewhere to feel safe.

i think you really need to look into private health cover (if you can afford it). i think by having some private cover you might be able to get better treatment. i know it is a lot, but it has to be better than the public system. anyway have a think about it.

i am glad you are ok too, please take care

Re: Despair *potential trigger: abuse*

Hi lj
im sorry things are so difficult for you.
Remember break your day into hours if people are rushing you ask them to slow down.
You're not expected to be ok with whats going on. It a normal reaction to the stress your under.
give yourself time . No one could go through what you are and be ok.
your a wonderful mum and a kind and compassionate person.
take care

Re: Despair *potential trigger: abuse*

You're not stupid. A panic attack is a very real psysical condition caused by anxiety. Can you tell the receptionist what's happening to you and that you'll wait just outside. Hopefully then she'll tell your doctor and get you in quicker?

Ellie.

Re: Despair *potential trigger: abuse*

@hiddenite you are not stupid, @elle is right you need to tell the receptionist about what is going on and go outside to your 4wd.

I get the involintary movements in my limbs too, as well as severe back pain and loss of bodily functions, i k ow it is the medication so i deal with it as best i can.

I know how tough these times can be. You need to control the negative thoughts, remember mindfullness. Be in the moment.

Remember to call help if you need it. Remeber i a. Always beside you. Your little brother.

challenge negative thoughts......

I am safe
I didn't deserve to be hurt
it wasn't my fault
I deserve to be helped

posative affirmations
they are just thoughts . I am not my thoughts and I don't have to act on them

Re: Despair *potential trigger: abuse*

Sorry @hiddenite i had to sleep, the joys of medication.

Good Girl, you are doing good, the ducks are so cute arent they?

Good girl i am so proud of you, i know 6 months ago you would not have done any of this, you would put yourself down, and blame your self.

You are going to be ok, tomorrow is another day, we just have to keep tring no matter how hard the challenge may be. guess what Karen you are winning, you are getting stronger little by little and it is getting weaker and weaker, it may be little steps but i see you fighting the good fight and slowly winning, it is not about the battle, it is about the war. you have some wins, you have some losses but you are hear so you have to be winning

Take Care My Angel, rest as best you can.
