Despair *potential trigger: abuse*

Despair *potential trigger: abuse*

Hi

I have been diagnosed with PTSD, anxiety, social anxiety, and depression.

I saw a trauma psychologist for 10 months twice a week, but she stopped seeing me when my safety became an issue while processing the trauma.

My symptoms are so bad now I isolate myself in the car everyday to avoid triggers and flashbacks. Unable to go to strange places, talk to people. Just don't belong anywhere. Anxiety so bad I shake most of the time, chest pain and hard to breathe... This isn't living......

I'm too damaged to be helped, I have tried but no one will help me..... They just tell me its too complex and they are unable to help. I don't know what do do I have no support isolated, alone and scared....

A good DBT instructor won't ever give up on you, but of course the biggest step is in actually getting yourself into a place where you believe that.

If only I could say or do something that might help, yet I feel so powerless.

Ellie.

Re: Despair *potential trigger: abuse*

As hard as it is... keep challening that belief that you are not able to be helped or to help yourself, people go through horrible things.. so many people on here have had traumatic pasts that they have been working through, have worked through, and are healing from. You are a wonderful, kind and thoughtful person, you are not irreparable. If you can challenge yourself to believe that if other people have survived, and comeout the other side you can too, maybe this will help a bit. Not to take away or minimise any of the pain that you have been through though! I know you have been let down by professionals, but that was their lack of knowledge or skill, not a reflection of your capabilities or possibilities. So glad you are posting here but please keep making those calls to people who can help you, at least in the moment. I believe you can get throug this, and be well.

stay safe please,

LJ
