Despair *potential trigger: abuse*

Despair *potential trigger: abuse*

Hi

I have been diagnosed with PTSD, anxiety, social anxiety, and depression.

I saw a trauma psychologist for 10 months twice a week, but she stopped seeing me when my safety became an issue while processing the trauma.

My symptoms are so bad now I isolate myself in the car everyday to avoid triggers and flashbacks. Unable to go to strange places, talk to people. Just don't belong anywhere. Anxiety so bad I shake most of the time, chest pain and hard to breathe... This isn't living......

I'm too damaged to be helped, I have tried but no one will help me..... They just tell me its too complex and they are unable to help. I don't know what do do I have no support isolated, alone and scared....

Dear God! Karen I cannot believe they have done this again. Hold onto the hope represented by your beautiful girls please.

I am going to light a candle now here at home for you. I will leave it in the loungeroom as a night light, it will sit in a little lantern and burn through the night. May the hope and love it holds trickle out over the country-side and hold you this night in its warmth. Talk again tomorrow.

Take care of you my friend.

Hope for the dawning of a new day endures...

Kindest regards,

Kristin

@hiddenite

Have you tried speaking to staff about the triggering effect of the male nurse. If they have a female staff member available, they may be willing to have her do the checks instead.

I can't believe for a moment you are their first consumer who is triggered by males coming into their space.

Good on you for hanging in there. You're tougher than most. 🙂

Dear @sara

It is so good to hear from you! Thanks for being in touch! I hope you and the kids are a bit better, and that some good help has come your way.

Did you get my message about the services which might be able to help?

Hope, for a candle in the dark to light our journey, endures...

Kindest regards,

Kristin

Re: Despair *potential trigger: abuse*

Dear Karen,

How are you tonight? Were you able to ask about a change of nurse, or were you too frightened? Those sort of things can be SO triggering. My best friend had similar problems quite a few times when she was in hospital. She's such an inspiration, she used to be in and out so much - a survivor of CSA - but it's been a couple of years since she's needed to go, she has a really great psych now and she is like you - a woman of great courage.

I was thinking about you yesterday, and about how you said you didn't know how to copy and paste the contents of your "blog" here, and how it might possibly help you to tell them when you are unable to speak because of the PTSD.

I could do this easily for you if you'd like? Then I could email it to Nik and she could send it to you, I am confident she would agree if you think it would help. I will take out your forum name so that you can remain anonymous too. If it would be helpful I can even separate bits out so that it can be under headings like hospital, triggers, reliving trauma, help, or whatever you think would be helpful to show them. Would you like that? I mean it that it would be fairly easy (even changing over your forum name is just running one simple thing to change " @hiddenite " for "Karen").

Anyway think about it if you'd like, and let me know. Depending on how busy I am and how many headings you want it under it would probably only take a few hours, a day or so at most.

Meanwhile I'll light another candle when I head to bed tonight.

Hope for light in the darkness endures...

Kindest regards,

Kristin

I have my note book with me so I can show them that. It has alot more detail than what I can put on the forum.
You have so much happening in your life please know I appreciate everything.
the candle is a lovely gesture. Thank you.

im really destressed about not being able to be at my daughters school tomorrow she is getting an award infront of the whole school.
Im also going to miss the appointment with the Australian Childhood Foundation.
I explained thats why I didn't want to go into the MHU that I would go after Monday. So instead they made me involuntary.
