Help Seeking

Help Seeking

A personal experience today reminded me how brave we are to seek help and be honest with ourselves and others about what we are experiencing. I must say that it does feel really good to know that the first step might be hardes and that I'm taking control of my life, my thoughts and feelings.

Happy Monday everyone and hope you all had a nice weekend.

Re: Help Seeking

Having some calm time with them reading books seems to have done the trick @ArraDreaming

I reckon a microwave manual would make me got to sleep

Going to bookweek as a microwave would be easier than Grug 🤣

Re: Help Seeking

Take care @ArraDreaming .

Thanks for tonight.

I'm wrapping up now too.

Remember, if you can't sleep, just read the micowave manual!

Re: Help Seeking

It sounds like maybe that is the new 'normal'??? @ArraDreaming Takes a bit of time adjusting?

I told someone about coming to bookweek as a microwave manual and they cracked up.

Anyway, I take my hat off to you with all that you are experiencing at the moment. You need a trophy mate!

Despite the frustration and the upset and hurt, you still take time to read them a bedtime story. You still spend time with them. You still love them.

Give it a few years, and I reckon you'd be an amazing First Nations peer worker. You can really help your people. But you gotta get through this tuff stuff first.

I have high hopes for you!

If there are times you need to step away - it's okay. It's okay that you need to take a breather.

Re: Help Seeking

Yeah I think so

Well its never there fault @tyme

they are still learning how to be people

I try to remember that when I’m frustrated it’s not the kids themselves  Im frustrated at

its usually something else like I’m overwhelmed, or maybe they wont shut up, but thats literally just them being kids, and they dont deserve to cop it.

Which is why i walked away yesterday because i knew i had to, i was getting annoyed at a 4 year old

Tonight we went and had very early dinner at the waterfront beach where we live because it was nice down there

Sat on the grass and rolled down some hills, ran them to exhaustion out like lights on the way home

Yeah you think so mate?
