@Glisten thankyou. I agree with staring into space as you so eloquently put it.

Very hard my friend 🧡 but in your situation it seems to be the only solution to the problem at the moment

Hey @PeppyPatti

Staring into space isn't such a bad thing - sounds to me like it gave you some valuable processing time.

I've spent the weekend catching up on some self-care and some sleep. I spent almost five weeks with only a couple of hours sleep a night, until my GP put me on some meds for sleep this week.

Today, I have jobs to do, so I need to find some motivation to actually do them. I find myself in an interesting headspace...

@Shaz51 Good morning how are you? Sounds like a very good morning now you are washing with no leaks. Your hubby did a good job fixing it all this morning 🙂 What’s on for you today?

Re: Friday Coffee and Chat -- 8th August 2025

@Shaz51 Ah my friend uses something in google to identify plants and birds. Very useful app. It’s amazing some of the stuff technology can do these days.

Im ok. I’m thinking about putting a post on on forums to get advice from members. Don’t have other people supporting me and it’s been really rough. Just sitting in the sun after cleaning cat litters. Need to make a cuppa and try to calm this anxiety Thats carrying on.

Re: Friday Coffee and Chat -- 8th August 2025

Dearest @NightFury

I love how I was trying to tag you in all different names for about three weeks.......

I live in public housing in a wealthy area, a place where volunteers often come to "help the poor people." Some are wonderful, like the kind woman who has hosted a coffee and tea morning every fortnight for years, and whose kindness motivates the elderly and middle-aged residents.
There is a lovely man who hosts a barbeque once a month.....so kind.

Then there are the dodgy ones. Two in particular have a knack for taking over. They love to talk about their university degrees, where they live, and their frequent international "rests," all while showing a cold lack of compassion. They don't offer peace or listen with empathy as residents repeat their often horrible stories.

Being who I am,

I wrote a letter to the member of parliament. All hell broke loose. The head of the organization, a woman who lives here and keeps her door open to any trouble, became the target. She was verbally abused and confronted by one of these volunteers two to four times a week, even though I hadn't mentioned her name in my letter.

Once they figured out I was the author, the volunteer started making comments like, "I didn't think she had the intelligence..." She said this to the head of the organization in a meeting full of other vulnerable, stigmatized people. This same belligerent woman then forced the head of the organization to sign a letter to retract everything I had written.

Fortunately, I had another meeting with the member of parliament and had already disclosed the retraction letter they made her sign. Now, after four long years of enduring these two volunteers, she is finally holding her head high. She's laughing again. Her story is a difficult one—one these 2 particular volunteers never bothered to ask about—but her strength is shining through. We're taking her out to dinner tonight to celebrate her courage.
