Give me a reason to smile please

Give me a reason to smile please

Long story short. Series of unfortunate events 🙂

Breakup happened with the love of my life who promised me next 40 years of togetherness.

2 days after that, lost my job

a week after that hurt my right hand and is swollen

In a country where i have no friends or family. Mostly spend my day feeling numb. There are days where i dont hear my own voice. Its just silence. Not sure what this universe is trying to teach me.

If you read this thread, just say hello so i dont feel alone anymore 🙂

Hey @maxsabar , welcome to the forums!

Sounds like you've had a LOT of stressors recently - relationship, job, physical (hand)... that's a lot to cope with.

Im sorry you dont have someone to verbally talk to about it. But you do have us here on the forums if you'd like. 😊

As for hearing your own voice... you could always read out our posts aloud? Or use a voice-to-text on your phone to write your posts??

I know its not the same as someone who you can also hear the voice of too. But it either might help a little, or just put a smile on your face if you think its a silly idea??

Do you have any hobbies you enjoy doing?

What's something you're proud of having done? 😊

Sending you a warm hug and a silly joke.

Why don’t seagulls fly over the bay?
Because then they’d be bagels.

Re: Give me a reason to smile please

@maxsabar i posted here last night but it looks like my post has disappeared, at least for my view?! New glitch of the forum im experiencing?! Super weird. Hopefully you can still see it or the system will fix itself.

Somehow I missed @pansexualpirate joke last night too! It gave me a smile for sure this morning when I read it! 😁 I love puns / "dad" jokes lol. Sometimes the The Ice-Memery thread can be good for a smile and a laugh.

Re: Give me a reason to smile please

Of course, you're so welcome @maxsabar.

I understand, it sounds like these things may be helping with a sense of regulation, but I know they don't negate the time it takes to truly process grief. And it will take time, but that's okay. I know it's hard, but that is why we are here. I would recommend obtaining as much support as possible - a SANE counsellor sounds perfect. I know you can access the group support as well through this program, which would be perfect for some further connection. Have you been able to reschedule your appointment at all?

I am mostly wondering what you feel you need most right now? Then maybe we can look at ways to meet those needs. I'm hoping this thread is a safe space you can come back to for support throughout this time too.

Please let me know if you have any questions or reflections. Here for you. 💛
