Welcome and getting started

What are you meant to do

What are you meant to do

I don't mean to trigger anyone. I'm sorry for everyone's pain. You try your best and you're still stuck. There's all these people that go on about spiritual stuff and they'll say things like there is a way. I don't know how it works.

Hi @Nick4,

Welcome to the forums!

I'd like to think there's always a way too, but I do acknowledge that it can be hard to find, especially when you're already feeling low and struggling. We may need extra support (in my case, I needed the help of my psychologist and friend) to see the next steps and move forward.

It can help to take things slow, one small step at a time. Those small steps can build up to create the 'bigger' picture later on. Is there a small step you can take this week?

If I can cry I will say hello to myself because I haven’t cried since 2022 so it is progress to 1) cry and 2) acknowledge pain.

The pain is also a pleasure to see inward

I misunderstood the pain as it is a pleasure to look inward to the self 😅

Re: What are you meant to do

Hi @Nick4 , from my experience I'd say some things help some people, and other things help other people. Spiritualism may help some but not everyone maybe? I've had some times in life where my spiritual beliefs have been a comfort, and other times where they haven't been at all. In the longterm, they haven't helped me with my mental illness, but I think they've helped me in my worldview.

I know the pain of trying to do everything people suggest and still not feeling better. It can be so discouraging and painful, but I don't believe it's your fault. Sometimes it takes trying things to find out what does and doesn't help you as an individual.

Are there any specific concerns or issues you are trying to address?

If so, would you like ideas/suggestions on different things to try if you feel up to it?

Would it help for you to be able to express what you've already tried and what hasn't seemed to work?

I wish the world had a solution that 100% guaranteed everyone would feel better. I can keep dreaming though, right?? It would be much easier lol.

Balance @Nick4 ,

Spiritual stuff will take care of the soul, but if the body and mind aren't playing cricket then you gotta get to a GP or if you're in real trouble ED. The right treatment can lift you out of a hole and even allow you to enjoy life! (Whod of thunk it!?). Getting your spiritual compass pointing in the right direction can often lead you to the right help, so cause and effect is what I suppose I'm saying.

God bless!

@Nick4 I really like your open curious approach. I agree that different things help different people. Wishing you the best in seeking, and finding things that work for you. Eg I found meditation from different traditions helpful, some hate meditation, some believe you shouldn’t mix things up and go all purist. But I found the different styles help balance out the limitations of the traditions. Were helpful in different parts of my life.

you do all the right things, you follow all the professional advice. I don't even know how's its possible that you can't even see a way forwards. You could be out there doing things that are wrong, stealing.
