Borderline and Mood Stabilisation

Borderline and Mood Stabilisation

I have done a DBT course about 18 months ago.

During that there was a lot of anger at the therapists - I perceived they were not understanding or my upset was justified.

At the time they suggested a psychiatrist, and mood stabilisation was suggested, but 2 of the three psychs weren't available, and there was administrative issues with the third. I disengaged.

In my recovery journey, I'm starting to see that I can go quickly to hostility or anger, so I'm exploring complementary treatment options and am going to see a psychiatrist.

I am wondering if any body has had experience using medication in their management of their BPD that they would be willing to share.

Also: it's very expensive. They are quoting $700 to $900 curious about people's experience in terms of cost.

Hi @Monarcmarc i have a personality disorder but not bpd

I believe medication has helped me but I need to trust the psych a lot to take their advice on meds.

Sometimes Ive been in the ED and they push things on me and im too scared to take - i tell myself they don't know me

Im about to start dbt on Monday

Would be keen to talk more about ur experiences if u feel up to it
