Very long period of anxiety

Hello.

I've been in an overwhelming state of anxiety over the last week, resulting in lots of crying. I'm hoping that not internalising everything and using this forum may be of help.

Several external factors are contributing to the longevity of my overwhelmed nature (I'm moving overseas soon, recent death in the family, major medical episode with an immediate family member, and navigating my relationship with my partner who has BPD).

If anyone has any shared experiences (with multiple or any of the above) that they can let me know of, so that I know I'm not alone, I think that might help.

This is good to know - thank you! It was recommended that I get on the forums by my psychologist. Maybe I'll be able to find something similar overseas, but until then I can read along.

Unfortunately, the move is very imminent - just 2 weeks left for me. The timing couldn't be worse.

Awww @Ri . That's VERY soon!

I can totally relate to the anxiety. It's a big move. I move around the corner 2 years ago and it wore me out - let alone a move overseas?

Have you had a chat to your partner about how you are feeling?

OH, and in the meantime, before you move, we're here to keep you company 🙂

I have mentioned that I've been overwhelmed for so long and briefly talked about it, but have not gone into specifics, as they are also struggling with their mental health at the moment.

I'm really glad I have such a lovely forum to keep me afloat before I move 🙂

In the past, I moved interstate without telling anyone. I sort of just went to 'spy out the land' and then never returned home. I have BPD, and I was in emotional turmoil. I really needed to 'get away' from life, so I moved @Ri

In a way, I cut off everything I knew because I wanted a fresh start. The fresh start lasted 6 months or so... then it was downhill from there until I got the support I needed... and yes, all my supports feel in place while I was in Melb. I'm pretty much in awe at how it happened. It feels like a lottery ticket @Ri

But these forums certainly form part of my recovery. As a borderline, I disconnected from the world, so these forums helped me to start socialising bit by bit...

And alas! I'm still here and things couldn't be better!
