Re: Friends, Family and Carers, Fancy a Cuppa and a Chat, Connect now

Happy weekend everyone.

I am busy cleaning out gutters and generally puttering around my new little cottage here [located removed by moderators]. I have recently downsized into something smaller and cosier. I had hoped by 'partner' would be able to join me here and feel a sense of peace with me but it looks like his CPTSD has other ideas. He basically lives a recluse lifestyle a few hours away on the fringe of civilisation. I have another 15 years of working and he is very retired. I am feeling increasingly doubtful he will ever be able to rejoin a regular lifestyle here with me in 'town'. What we have is definitely not fitting any semblance of a normal relationship and I don't really even feel he is fitting the 'good friend' description at the moment either, as he is completely incapable of responding or truly giving anything of himself at this time.

My husband and I are retired due to our physical health problems and mental health problems

He loves being at home

Go down town in the car and he will either rin through the shop or wait in the car for me

trouble for me is everyone wants to chat with me and i find i cant

also we get no visitors

Hey @EchoGirl ,

Welcome to the forums! Thank you for sharing a little about yourself including your cottage (sounds so homely!) and your 'partner'.

I hope you find some warm connection here on the forums to support your own wellbeing - and perhaps share it with your partner.

Sounds pretty rough at times. Do you have any supports you can turn to?
