@Ru-bee Talk about good timing! I didn’t expect it would be out today just thought I’d ask and there it was!!! I love the format and really enjoyed the content a lot. Well done to all involved!

Yup rental searching and applications are an awful thing to be doing. It’s a really hard one because housing is so important to everything especially mental health. Unfortunately it’s also something renters have any real control over. We rely on property managers and owners to select us for a home while another 30-50 families miss out. Things out of our control really impact me especially important things like housing. Nothing new to look at today and got a rejection for a property I applied for on Monday. Looked at another one yesterday but havnt heard back yet. Crossing all fingers and toes and asking the universe to give me a break!

What’s your day been like?

Yes it's hard when you're up against so many others who also really need a home @Cuddlebear The system is just in shambles at the moment, it makes me nervous for when we might have to move next. I think I'm going to try to stay put until I'm in a position to buy but that also seems very out of reach. So for now I'm just grateful to have a rental.

My day has been good! The newsletter coming out has definitely given me a boost! And I've been chatting to some of the new mods who are training up to be here in the night space and they're all lovely so it's been a good day over all!

@Cuddlebear I am keeping all my fingers and toes crossed for you too!! I am also in the process of house-hunting and finding it rather overwhelming, so please know you are not alone. It really is tough for renters, isn't it?

@Ru-bee I would say that keeping the rental you are in is the best decision. The rental crisis is really huge and affecting renters all over Australia. I know though thwt saving up to buy and then finding an affordable place to buy is also hard.

Yeah the newsletter today is such good news. Really enjoyed reading it. I’m really glad to hear the new moderators coming on board are lovely. ☺️ I saw a post saying they are being trained up and will start soon which is awesome. How many are there? Does it get busy online here overnight?

@AuntGlow Oh I did not realise you are on the hunt for a new rental too. It is really tough and there are not enough properties for lease to house prospective tenants. I find it very time consuming and stressful. Meanwhile the current rental is filled with packed boxes and there’s no sense of home. I really hope you are able to find something suitable really soon. Keep me updated.

Other than that I’ve been home all day today. I am going to Recovery Club webinar tonight which I am looking forward to. My fur babies get their dinner at 5pm and I’m trying to decide what to eat tonight. Looking for simple stuff as I don’t have much motivation for these simple tasks at the moment. Maybe a salad sandwitch with cheese or something similar.

That's a great question @Cuddlebear I don't actually know how many there will be but I met a bunch! I think we often will have mods do shorter shifts overnight so we need quite a few I think. I'll be meeting more over the week too 😊

How was Recovery Club?

And sometimes simple meals are the best. We need low-effort when things are stressful, being an adult is bloody hard! I am going to use a salad kit and fry some chicken to pop on top. Easy meal for me too. 👏
