Saturday Soiree - 12th June 2025

I don't have an open fire @Jynx so cooking marshmallows over it is not easy. It's enclosed with a glass door so you can see into it.

I have put a fire in the two houses I have owned, because I love them and it reminds me of good times with Dad. I sold the first house to buy this one (well with the bank both times - mortgage fun).

I love watching nature moving @NightFury @Jynx like waves, the trees in the wind, the rain, the running of a river or creek, burbling over rocks and especially the power of waterfalls, flames of a fire, the animals, the birds and the insects. And sun reflecting off things @NightFury or filtering through the leaves etc. I found it helps ground me and helps me to think. I love their sounds as well. I very much do not like loud man made sounds, like traffic, really loud music, people screaming, leaf blowers etc

@Till23 @Jynx the way the light reflects is pretty cool. I dabbled in a lot of photography and considered myself a photographer not that long ago and one of my favourite things to photograph was texture in nature and the way light reacted and reflected. I'll see if I can track down some of the photos I took...

I consider myself a photographer, I have had unpaid roles as a photographer and have won prizes. I was the elected photographer for our recent overseas sports trip.

I love it. I was really into it in the old film days and darkroom development days and developed my own photos for a while and took and developed photos for the university magazines while I was studying.

I also have photos of texture in nature. I am especially interested in macro photography so lots of insects and tiny flowers that kind of thing

Hi @Shaz51 - well you have less need for fire where you are!

You have great scenery around you and you create your own ecosystem with your garden as well. So nice to be able to immerse yourself in nature. I hope it eases some of your problems a little at least

Meet Odin and Freya - the Maine Coons. I don't have them any more. I had to rehome them when I moved to QLD. I miss them...

I changed my profile pic when my boy passed away, because I would have been too sad seeing him all the time, as it was too soon.

I still feel his spirit at night in the room next to mine
