Spud Buds!

JynxModerator04 July 2025, 5:33 pm AEST

Spud Buds!

Potato is life!!

Hiya Forums Pals!! By popular request (care of several superstar attendees in one of our mental health recovery groups, and a cracker of an ice breaker), this space is for all lovers of potatoes, and all their glorious forms!!

We ask now the whole forums community to join us in our admiration of this fine root vegetable. But, this may split the community asunder as we discuss....

What do you think is the superior form of the humble potato?

Is it the classic hash brown? The noble potato gem? Or the oft-overlooked mash? Maybe something obscure, like gnocchi?

Let us know gang!!

Re: Spud Buds!

I don't have quite as many potato-related memes or funnies coming up in my socials (clearly my algorithm is broken) but this one did emerge over the weekend.

@0ddsidian

I am the shape of a potato.

Maybe I should start identifying as one

I genuinely laughed out loud with this one, @Oaktree. You are a queen. Queen of the Potatoes?

Re: Spud Buds!

Just found this thread...............

I love eating potatoes.

I remember at 18 years old, living in potatoes during the week and

Seeing bands 3 days a week.

Sigh. Back to my quilting.

Re: Spud Buds!

How cool is it, @PeppyPatti? I love that a whole conversation about potatoes came up in one of the SANE group sessions, and now it's found its way here, thanks to @Jynx. Potatoes bring people together haha

I'd love to see your quilting, if you'd like to share it in the Craft Central thread 😊 I know you've been in there.

Re: Spud Buds!

@Jynx @0ddsidian @PeppyPatti @Oaktree @Former-Member I found the best potato cakes/fritters/scallops in Coles and they taste just like the fish and chip shop ones when deep fried. They are dee-licious!
